The Jewish laws which had been passed down orally from generation to generation had several things to say about the need for ritual washing, and the most desirable places to do it.[1] There are six different options suggested that satisfy the requirements, starting with pits or cisterns of standing water as acceptable but least desirable, moving up to pits that are refreshed by rainwater as slightly more desirable, then the custom-built ritual bath, or “mikveh” with 40 se’ahs (300 liters) or more of water, then fountains, then flowing waters.

The thing is that Yeshua/Jesus has never said come follow new religion called Christianity, he never said come follow Judaism. He said - come and follow me. The entire target was to point to the Father in heaven. At that time there was no such thing as new testament. Also when John called to repent and to return to God people knew exactly to who to return to, to the ancient ways of YHWH.

@@BerenddeBoer name one scripture where they changed the Sabbath to Sunday. Don't try to point to any of the verses that say "first day of the week". 1) they are NOT translated correctly. 2) the Greek says Mia Ton Sabbiton. Mia means ONE not first. Prota is the Greek word for first. Just like in English one and first are not interchangeable. Ton is a connective word like of, and, like, the etc. Every language that has a word for Sabbath it is close to Sabbath. No language uses Sabbath to mean week. 3) the English translators didn't understand that Gods feasts are calculated. From Passover/ unleavened bread week one counts seven 7th day sabbaths add one day to get Shavuot what Greek calls pentecost which means 50 days. 4) those translators chose to do false translation in those verses using their Catholic teachings bias to change Sabbath to Sunday. In 321 ad pope Constantine changed the Sabbath to Sunday saying it was the Catholic Authority and their mark. 5) in Exodus & Ezekiel says the 7th day Sabbath is the sign / mark between YHWH and his people. 6) in revelations there is two marks ... God's is 7th day Sabbath. So, one can easily figure out the other mark will be a different day for the Sabbath. 7) 1 thess 5:19-24 is a command to test everything, and if one does NOT it is seen as Evil. 8) Hebrews 10:26-31 is clear if one sins willfully they are stepping on Yashua face. 9) English translations hide Torah with Law. Law is a western thought, Torah means righteous instruction. As in Mt 6:33 the righteousness we are to seek of the Kingdom of YHWH. 10) 1 JN 3:4 proper translation would say sin is the transgression of the Torah, transgression of the Torah is sin. 11) false traditional teaching try to say Sabbath has been changed to Sunday. No verse will back you up I have shown you if you don't test what you are taught, scripture translation that clearly contradicts other scriptures to see what does the manuscript say ... then one is going against the commandment of thess, and is willfully sinning as Hebrews states. SUNDAY is NOT the Sabbath. I am not a seventh day Adventist. I treat The WHOLE BIBLE as the WORD of YHWH. If we don't we are saying YHWH and Yashua do change. If They can change then they can't be held to their promises or anything in scripture so why would we follow them as Servants?

@@BerenddeBoer The Roman emperor Constantine, a former sun-worshiper, professed conversion to Christianity, though his subsequent actions suggest the “conversion” was more of a political move than a genuine heart change. Constantine named himself Bishop of the Catholic Church and enacted the first civil law regarding Sunday observance in A.D. 321. On the venerable day of the sun let the magistrate and people residing in cities rest, and let all workshops be closed. In the country however, persons engaged in agricultural work may freely and lawfully continue their pursuits; because it often happens that another day is not so suitable for grain growing or for vine planting; lest by neglecting the proper moment for such operations the bounty of heaven should be lost. -Schaff’s History of the Christian Church, vol. III, chap. 75. In A.D. 325, Pope Sylvester officially named Sunday “the Lord’s Day,” and in A.D. 338, Eusebius, the court bishop of Constantine, wrote, “All things whatsoever that it was the duty to do on the Sabbath (the seventh day of the week) we (Constantine, Eusebius, and other bishops) have transferred to the Lord’s Day (the first day of the week) as more appropriately belonging to it.”

About the synoptic problem, I refer you to the book by David Alan Black, "Why Four Gospels". In this book Dr. Black theorizes that the gospel of Matthew was written for the Jerusalem church soon after its founding as a manifesto, a statement of the gospel that they all could stand behind and present to first century Jews as they spread the message of Yeshua. The other gospels were later done by followers of Peter and Paul to speak specifically to Greeks and Romans. If this is true, I could believe that the gospel of Matthew was done in Hebrew first and then either translated to Greek for diaspora Jews, or reworked as a Greek composition to speak to those Greek speaking Israelites. My reading of Dr. Black and my reading of Nehemias book "The Hebrew Yeshua vs. The Greek Jesus" came close together and formed this thought in my mind. Comments, Keith or Nehemia?

John was born 6 months before Yeshua. Josephus and Yeshua both talk about Zacharias being killed at the altar in the Temple. John is later seen coming from the wilderness. It is believed that when Herod sent out the order to kill the boy babies, John would have been included in that order. Zacharias and Elizabeth probably hid him in Qumran with the priests there. They were known to take in orphans. The town knew about the miraculous birth of John. They knew Zacharias could not speak until he was born and named. The people not wanting their babies killed reported it to the priests, hoping his capture would save their children! Elizabeth refused to give him up and was killed. They then went to the Temple to inquire of Zacharias and he refused to give him up, so he was killed at the altar. John was raised by the priests at Qumran. As for baptism, I don't see it as actually washing your sin away! Repentance does that! Baptism is a visual testimony that you have repented and died to yourself and resurrected to a new life where you live for Yah and keep His word!

John as a Jew was doing it as a baptism of repentance. Yeshua commanded the disciples to baptize the new believers in the name of the Father, the Son,And the Holy Spirit. Baptism means that we have come into covenant with the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob thru His Son Yeshua. It has supernatural implications such as being baptized in the Holy Spirit and fire at the same time as water. Cleansing the body of sickness and the mind of wrong thinking and the soul & body from demons and curses being broken. You get what you believe for As long as it is in the Will of the Father. If you don't know these things are available to you, you cannot believe for them and receive them. This is how faith operates. Quantum physics is simply the mathematic equations for how faith works. This is by no means an exhaustive list of what the King of kings will do for you before, during & after our baptism.

Nehemia. I am not sure you get this but baptism is none of what was mentioned. It is a symbol of life change. We accept the washing of the WORD OF YAH in our life. When someone who testifies of Yeshua (as Messiah) meets on "common ground" with another who does not testify of Yeshua, it is contradictory. In other words, if Keith BELIEVES the New Testament, then he believes Nehemia is lost because that is the very definition of a lost person. He that confesses the Son, has the Father also. He who denies the Son, has not the Father either. Conversely, a saint is one who testifies of Yeshua AND obeys Torah according to Revelation in 3 different passages as well as in Psalm 2. Likewise, if Nehemia BELIEVES Torah but denies the fulfillment of Yeshua as Torah's written-about Messiah, then he believes Keith is misled and in error in his personal convictions and in everything Keith teaches. Torah very clearly tells us what to do with a false teacher in Deut 13. So from Nehemia's own belief system, (even though he is wrong) he should be rejecting Keith totally as a false teacher. Nehemia should view Keith as someone who should be stoned to death. What neither of them are willing to admit is that this EXTREME divide is being made inconsequential by both of them in favor of their respective ministries and the income they make from said ministries. They are both ignoring the word of God in favor of their own agendas. If both of them ONLY cared about truth and the soul of the other, then this divide in beliefs would overshadow and take precedence over everything else. They could not come together because their foundation of "common ground" would be non existent. They instead, seek to have it both ways. They seek to ignore the most important issue from Yehovah's perspective to go down their own path of what THEY think is more important. It's all about income. The love of money (the seeking after it primarily) actually IS the root of all evil. Here is the proof. Deuteronomy 28:28 says that if we disobey Yehovah and DO NOT CAREFULLY FOLLOW ALL THAT HE SAYS, He will afflict us with blindness and confusion. This blindness and confusion is being manifested in both of these two gentlemen in different areas but for the same exact reason. They are ignoring the seriousness of what Yehovah says, downplaying Yehovah's agenda in favor of their own. 2Jn 1:7 I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist. 8 Watch out that you do not lose what we have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. 9 Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take them into your house or welcome them. 11 Anyone who welcomes them shares in their wicked work.

If the Jews have the Torah which is the word of God and Yeshua is the word of God then don't they have him? Couldn't it be said that that's why Yeshua said he came for lost sheep? That those who are well don't need the physician? (Mark 2:17, Matthew 9:12). In your mind, Yeshua shouldn't have sat with the sinners because they weren't in agreement, yet he gave them grace knowing their heart was ready to accept repentance. This is where common ground is. God is working with people and He will make the 2 sticks one again. He is working miracles and His word is being fulfilled though our generations before our eyes. No other person has been able to bring people back to God like Yeshua has. This speaks volumes and at the appointed time God will open the eyes who need to be opened just like Pauls were....just like most of ours were blinded to hidden truths. God's word will prevail. This being said, I believe all need Yeshua as their sacrifice to atone in the heavenly realm but all is going according to God's plan. Nothing is out of His hands so trust in Him and watch Him do the work.

@@TacklingTheGiants Is John lying to us in 2John 1:7-11? The common ground for both Jew and gentile is repentance. That means we stop sinning (breaking God's law) and return to obedience. In that law, it speaks of Messiah. He is to be believed and obeyed or there are consequences. This is stated in Torah and in Psalm 2. Not believing/obeying Him (not accepting Him as Messiah) is breaking what is commanded in Torah. Breaking the commands or ignoring what Yehovah says (in favor of your own agenda) results in blindness and confusion. I didn't state this. Yehovah did and it is absolutely 100% true. John restates this expectation in 2John with the consequences spelled out. You cannot be a Christian (with Torah in the flesh but not the written Torah) or a Jew (with the written Torah but not Torah in the flesh) and be accepted. The only ones who will be a part of the coming together of the two sticks, are those who REPENT of their error (ignoring Yehovah's words). That's why Rev 12:17, 14:12 and 22:14 all state that salvation for a saint is for those who obey Torah and testify of Yeshua. BOTH!

@@shabbatsongs4801 John is a Jew and he says there are those in his day who do not accept Jesus as the Messiah. They are both deceived and Antichrist. These are not my words. These are the words that Keith believes if he believes the NT. Therefore, Keith would have to acknowledge that John is speaking about people like Nehemia. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob believed of the coming Messiah but did not meet Him. Had they met Him and denied Him, they would be as John describes of deceivers instead of as John himself testifies....and other Jews testified. Nehemia's problem is that he wants to monetarily use his cousin Yeshua and even throws out that the guys on the road to Emmaus are like him and until he is SHOWN like they were, he will not believe Yeshua is the Messiah. What he refuses to acknowledge is that the guys on the road to Emmaus were rebuked by Yeshua for being "slow and foolish to believe all that the prophet's wrote." So Nehemia doesn't actually need the NT. He simply is denying what the prophet's wrote. He'll tell you himself that certain passages are not messianic that historically have always been considered messianic. And two thousand years later when we have the gift of hindsight, there is really no excuse for being "slow and foolish" with the prophet's words. Daniel is pretty clear that Messiah will come when a Temple was still standing and "during the time of the kings" mentioned of the 4 empires (beasts). That 4th beast was Rome. Those kings are no longer in power....so you do the math for when Messiah came. Also Messiah is said to both die and reign eternally. There can only be 1 order of those events, for both scenarios to be true. IOW, He can't reign forever and then die. He has to die, rise from the dead and then reign forever. Hindsight makes all of this a no-brainer......very unlike the guys on the road to Emmaus.

I don't see Nehemiah saying Yeshua didn't come in the flesh. He's teaching his teachings. God can use anyone for His purpose and many (including me, a believer in Yeshua) are learning from their teachings and I personally thank God for them. I believe it is God who has to open people's eyes and in time in my heart I truly believe Nehemiah's eyes will be opened as it says in the scriptures. Romans 9-11 talks about Israel being temporarily blinded and to not boast against them. Just as God was pleased to crush His son to our sins unto death, so is Israel his son, and they see death with Yeshua. The Jews see those verses as applying to them as being despised, rejected, hated, and killed because this has happened to them all throughout the world. Its a multilayer prophecy like many are. They are both God's son's. It goes on to say that all Israel will be saved. Their eyes WILL be opened at the appointed time. I don't understand the whole concept (individual vs national salvation/ Passover vs Yom Kippur but I think this has something to do with it). I can't wrap my brain around it fully but walls are being broken down, the mountains are coming down, and the divisions are coming to a close. We have some of what they need and they have knowledge of what we need. This has to happen and if we aren't willing to work together then how can it ever happen?
