The recent updation of HEC in HMS (4.10 version) made setting up a hydrologic model so easy. In this video, a complete set-wise procedure is given for setting up the model layout (subbasins, reaches, etc) using GIS tolls which are now built-in HEC-HMS.
In this tutorial, selected procedures of rainfall loss and runoff transform are globally accepted and best for estimation of the design flood discharges of ungauged basins.
Moreover, Global Curve Number data (GCN 250) raster available at 250 x 250 grid and for ARC 1, ARC 2 & ARC 3 separately and found authentic in many cases, has also been used in this tutorial using the gridded Curve Number option in the gridded data manager of HEC-HMS. Prior to GCN 250 the Curve Number estimation was a time taking and based on an expert's judgment by assessing the CNs from coarse data sets of land use and soil types.
