Excellent explaination of Heian Yondan Kata Bunkai. Specially the right application of Uraken Uchi striking the opponent's arm and right distances applying Yoko Geri Keage wich in Kata Tournaments, always Jodan level demostrated is. But in Shotokan Ryu Chudan or Gedan is to be effective in Self Defence situations. Of course the origin came from Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karatedo as a side Mae Geri was performed. In fact researching about Keriage principles, it only considered a snap high kick but the truth is that the based principle Keribanashi is real snap kick in short combat distances. Congratulations for your video and sharing your knowledge. Merry Christmas everybody together with your families and friends. Oss!!! 🙏🏻🥋🙏🏻

It is so perfect explained. But in the reality, you never know where and when the punches will come. So it is better to be first, in my opinion..

Do you ever do bunkai against realistic attacks?

@@PracticalKarate As much as possible, for sure. I was just curious why most bunkai videos show a defense against a lunge punch which is the least common attack, instead of defending a jab or reverse punch.

bunkai veramente impresentabile.se si continua a spiegare a questo livelli un kara il karate sparira'..gia' l aginismo contemporaneo sta distruggendo la tecnica e la credibilita' di questa arte narziale

“Effective” , huh?😂 There is nothing practical or effective, or even realistic about this bunkai. A fight is never static like this , it is fluid and many times messy - the principals of the movements are of the most value here , but the exact movements themselves - as done & demonstrated in the kata is simply not conducive for a real combat situation. Nobody wants to say this , everyone wants to believe this is all practical because to do so would mean you’ve been deceived all this time Do the kata and focus on the movement principles
