I was stationed there in the mid 90s. I visited this place and was full of mixed emotions. You can nearly hear the echoes of the past.

Thank you for your video. My wife and I visited there in 2011 and I tried to imagine some of the activities that took place there all those years ago much the same way you did in this video, because actually being there somehow makes the experience so much more personal and real. I particularly appreciated your style of delivering those bits of history as you encouraged us to imagine it as you painted the scene for us, it made that bit of history so much more memorable. I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to more of historical tours. Thank you again. Well done!

Fascinating Vic! You should have left the camera at the top and stood on the stage to test the acoustics. We're staying in Heidelberg in August on our motorcycle tour. Looking forward to that! Thanks for taking us along Vic.

Glad you liked the video my friend. You can ride the bike all the way to the top, there is a paved road that goes around the hill, do not read the books of LONELY PLANET that say that there is no road..

Hi Vic. As I have traveled thru Germany I too have asked how such a disaster happened. You were commenting on money. I can't understand how they accumulated the money for the upcoming war.

As I travel around Germany, I always try to imagine what this country would have looked like if it was not for the war.. Its cities must have looked absolute spectacular...

Walk up the center stairs and go back into the forest and you'll find an old monastery which is where the stones were taken for the construction of the amphitheater. -------- This comment is a repeat of an earlier comment I made.
