Great video. I am a SPY options trader. I use the Hienken Ashi daily candles as a trend reversal indicator only. Generally, it has given me 75- 85% accuracy. When a candle changes to green at close of day, I purchase on a ratio of 3 to 1, 6 to 2, or whatever I decide to invest. I generally buy in the money CALLS if long and one or to deviations out of the money with PUTS. I use ATR for profit targets. And I must say, my account is kicking ass! I am actually always in the market. I trade with the same mentality as the commercials and large fun traders do in the futures markets. When daily HK turns red, I stay net sort visa versa. I am now so used to trading both long and sort I can now turn bad trades into good trades. NO STOPS! I do not even care what the algos are doing. Or where they are being activated. No support levels. At the same time, nothing is perfect in trading. It's how you manage your losing trades and risk management that matters most. Best regards, Chris

All he's saying is you can use the heikanashi as a exit indicator temporarily until you find a true exit indicator. Hes not saying its efficient or good even but having something to get you out before you take losses is better than nothing and just taking a loss. Which is a huge part of his winning mentality, the more losses you can eliminate with your algorithm and money management the more sound your system will be. Always look for indicators that will work better in your algo than what you have.

my strategy has this aspects as well, and it also works very well.. I am also very happy, and because of it I even began to learn how to code MQL5, because it can be automated.. but I prefer M30 timeframe, instead of D1.. and VP doesn't like CCI and he said it isn't good..... but it is one of my favorites and for me it works Really well, to find trends/the right momentum.. I really don't know why he doesn't talk about a combination of 2 CCI's, and how it would work when it is used with more periods; at least 50 periods.. it is a pity that he underestimated this indicator.. now other traders will think that it isn't good, but that is Very good.. -.-

Sorry, but HA is so much more than you portray. I use it for entry, close, and managing the trade. Granted, I only use it for 4+ hour forex trades. For copper intraday trades, HA indeed failes miserably, and only a simple price LINE works for me. HA is the only indicator I use, and if used properly (with price line for true price action), can be very successful. And no, I DO NOT use its trend colors to make trades, it's entry and exit points go beyond candle colors. You are simply giving people misguided information, regarding HA, in this video. My MoM growth is all I need to see HA's potential and I couldn't be happier. But, I trade the first two hours of copper without using HA - just to point out that I was taught without indicators - and HA is the only indicator I can use with total confidence in forex.

Hi, My name is Sigal, from Israel. Sorry in advance about English ... I was exposed to the trade only about six months ago. I signed up for a course (in stocks) and then micro-contracted training of indexes and commodities. Despite all the tools the course provides, something was missing ... The feeling was that all of this description didn't quite fit when I thought deeply about what was being explained and the pace of daily trading was fast for me. I started searching the web for completeness and extension of what I had already heard, My desire was to isolate the "background noise" and to study the field as a new profession is systematically studied (since I am from another field in the profession, I studied chemistry / quality and safety). And I want to thank you for the very special videos. You're the only one who says "the king is naked" - thank you.

You have it spelled right in the video thumbnail. It is frequently misspelled "heiken," which means military authority. "Heikin," on the other hand, means average. Heikin is the correct Romanized spelling, but absolutely no native English speaker says it correctly. The correct way to say it would sound similar to "HEH-KEEN," not the "HAY-KEN" most English speakers use. In Japanese, that EI is a way of extending the EH sound, to make it sound longer. It's not a diphthong the way we use it in English, where EI makes the AY sound. Confusing, I know. We similarly butcher the brand Honda. Correctly said, it sounds like "HONE-DAH," where HONE is like when you hone a knife or skill. But we say HAHN-DAH. Totally wrong, but the wrong pronunciation is permanently enshrined in our culture. It will never change. Oh well. I'm sure you weren't looking for a Japanese lesson. Great channel, by the way! I've enjoyed it immensely!

I disagree with this. I have used HA as a tool to enter and exit trades on the daily, but I only buy shares and sell, no shorting or options, and that works great. It works better with different stocks or currencies. $ADI and Eth are good for it. I don't believe you have to use more complicated or 5 indicators to make trades.

I plan to take all this information from this playlist and incorporate it into my system and measure the difference in performance. I like to see evidence something works even though I can already visually see this method of using indicators is better just from looking at the charts.

I agree. I watch most videos on youtube at 2x speed and maybe drop to 1.5x-1.75x for some super fast speakers. I would also recommend this to everyone, as it allows you to absorb information much more effectively. You get used to 2x pretty quickly and 1x starts to sound like the speaker is drunk :)

Great take-away from this video. 1. I dont need to backtest Heiken Ashi - save me the time to test it - Testing it on 2 pairs for 2 years period. Save the time for others. 2. I still havent got a exit indicator in my setup - still prioritizing my search on entry indicators. Well might as well use this first as benchmark.

I’m always looking for simplicity. Eliminate what isn’t useful or eliminating any tool that confirms other tools twice. Too much data is like waiting for the stars to align. Focusing on the least tools for Buy, Sell, Hold decisions, eliminates confusion. 😀

Most people will fail in trading because of the psychology aspect of the discipline , they will not stick to their money & risk management, I do believe Alexander Elder said you need 10,000 hours of practice.... 10,000 hours = 40 hours a week for 5 years, I really doubt most people will dedicate this amount of time. some traders might argue Heiken Ashi might work with the combination of different time frame, with some other indicators, etc... probably not the way people trade on this channel.

To everyone: for those seeking an adjustable heikin ashi candles, I want to know what specific settings you want to adjust for it. I'm planning to rebuild an existing one to an adjustable version.

Can we modify the actual equation behind the candle? I have used something similar to heikin ahs called. Synergy_apb which is really good (beginners won't be able to tell the diff at first) If you can modify the actual equation behind heikin ashi. Let me know. Maybe give me your discord so we can connect and talk more.

VP thank u for all this free game that u put the work in to find. my question is this, do u still wait for the last 20 mins before the day candle to closes to get into trade or do u let it close and get in on the very next candle since Heikin Ashi candle starts in the middle of last candle?

You are always saying that trend traders are losing money in the ranges and it's normal so why do you think that Heiken Ashi entries are bad because in the range it doesn't work?
@doublesatisfaction6566

Heikin Ashi is too slow in the case of entries. What he means is you can find better indicators for the entries.
@partyfavors9238

@@doublesatisfaction6566 That's all an opinion. I know someone who is actually using this indicator and is very successful. People need to find what works for them. Just because you say it's too slow doesn't mean that there isn't any other traders using this isn't profitable with it. I've noticed by watching tons of video everybody always got something to say about what works and what doesn't when it all comes down to preference. I work with what is best for me that's for sure.
@partyfavors9238

Interesting point. It's all preference and there's no one so-called indicator has the holy grail that's for sure. You work with what is best for you as a trader. I don't pay attention to anyone's opinions anymore that's why I don't waste my time with it.

I like how bluntly or brutally honest your videos are. As a feedback, I use HA frequently in certain combinations of other indicators as well as keeping fundamentals and price action in consideration. I have some rules. Which almost every "expert" will dismiss. However, it is pleasure learning from your tutorials.

Sir, you are extremely bright and I say that after nearly 45 years trading and investing. However, you have made a very fundamental mistake in your example using heikin-ashi. Namely, that the chart that you "have not cherry picked" is a poor example of the indicator under review and thus, you are being whipsawed and I agree you would lose a great deal of money during the time you are being whipsawed. In short, you would be best served using a stochastic or another oscillator during the sideways movement. But, what if you choose a TRENDING stock and heikin-ashi? Then, since I use it ONLY as an entry vehicle with trending stocks that are also above their moving average, it has proven to be highly effective and very profitably. Bottom line: Ya don't use a saw to hammer a nail, ya use a hammer and visa-versa. If you get a free moment, I challenge you to put out a new video using a trending stock, ETF, etc. and due justice to a great entry indicator and more importantly to your viewers of which I am and will remain a subscribed viewer. Thank you for all that you do for so many!

Ive found using the heiken ashi on 1hr or more and trading on a 1-5minute chart and using MA and EMA to see the change of momentum and rsi to help finding a position can be very accurate. wait for ashi to break 50 rsi and buy. Ideally also a long heiken ashi crossing the EMA and MA is a great sign. sell half on first negative ashi above profit goal. sell other half at break even or when the MA and EMA cross.

So uhhh... You are saying that the heikanashi is totally fine because it works in stocks and EFT's which is something that has nothing to do with the topic at hand in the fx market. Yeah? or am I completely misunderstanding this post? it literally just looks like you're defending something that has nothing to do with the topic and usage at hand. Im not like nit picking or bashing your comment just genuinely looking for clarification for understanding.

@@EnnuiTheNomad That's not the point. It all comes down to the market conditions. Trend vs range market. OP is saying that the Heikens are great during a trend which makes perfect sense. For ranges, they're not the most effective.

Is it standard that you can take money off the table during a trade? you mention that when you are ahead in a trade and winning, you can take half off of the table, take your winnings , change your stop loss to buy or sell point and continue the trade risk free. I really want to add this to my strategy on my practice account(s) but the two brokers i've tried this on haven't allowed the feature.
