This is a fantastic commercial, Here's what I'm going to do. 1.) Make a plan to go buy me a Heineken Beer 2.) Drink the beer and enjoy it because this ad made the beer not a dumb cliche to be avoided 3.) Applaud the Marketeers who came up with this, Kudos people, Kudos! 4.) And see where else I can apply this wonderful approach.

Videos and stories like this try to show that there's more qualities in your life that are in common with others than you know. I believe it. But one major problem is ... there are differences, too, and its how we choose to handle those differences that causes life to be wonderful or a nightmare. I hope we continue to evolve and understand each other as just humans, because there's no other on this planet but us.

A very clever advert - I have not seen it before. VERY MUCH where in life today with such a WIDE selection of social media available - we do not have an excuse to NOT be aware. Life today is moving at a fast pace - but we still have to create a balance we are personally happy with to progress forward. FYI - I do strive to see the good in everyone and build relationships with them. (FYI - I don't drink - so that part is irrelevant - and it wouldn't make me drink it !!! but don't tell Heineken that, but I know I am in the minority - so it doesn't matter I don't drink)

I agree with the premise, and beer is generally awesome, but I watched it twice and the salient message in the dialogue chosen quite clearly promotes conservatives surrendering their positions and bending to the positions of the left, instead of vice versa. "Smash the patriarchy" *beer clink*... "I'll tell my wife I'm texting another woman (after denouncing transgender people.)" Also, it depicts the conservatives as troubled and that their views are based off of a rough upbringing which is most certainly not the case. Thoughts? Agreements? Protests?
@kylephaneufmusic
7 жыл бұрын
Come on now.. It would've been a totally different ad if the dialogue at the end had the feminist saying, "maybe you're right and feminism is out of control and irrational." Or the transgender person saying, "I guess I am just a confused person. You're right, there are only two biological genders."

yeah because people on the right or conservatives generally are the closed minded ones and aggresive ones! About time people realize. By definition conservatives value individualism (good results are all me, or mostly me), forget about helping other people (if they have bad fortune/outcomes, its because they suck), humans cannot possibly impact the environment (the world is somehow built of individually operating objects that have no impact on each other). You see, this is the clash of our times.

I never thought about the right being the "side" always compromising in this video, I just thought it was a unique way to make us think and sell a product. However, since there are several comments about the right always being the side to cave, I would just suggest that those on the left are generally more open-minded to the points of others, while those on the right are more generally not.

Sadly, "if you're ex-military" there's a strong likelihood that you've been involved in war crimes, having been a part of illegal invasions & occupations that resulted in the deaths of countless innocent civilians. You may have thought you were fighting a war on terror, but I think we can now see those actions for what they really were - vast, money-making operations that enriched a small number of organisations and individuals while destroying villages, towns, cities and lives all over the world. That said, the general public need to look past their differences and stick together because whoever's in charge is pitting us against each other.

"For example, one approach had respondents watch a recent viral U.K. video, produced by Heineken [this is the video above], showing conversations between people with different political orientations connecting with one another and finding mutual respect over pints of beer. Though the video focused on ideological differences in the United Kingdom, it strongly reduced American respondents’ animosity toward the other side more than any of the other approaches we tested. It also reduced partisans’ willingness to support candidates endorsing undemocratic moves - probably because by reducing animosity for rival partisans, it made respondents less determined to defeat the rival party no matter what. These findings fit with other research on Americans’ voting. According to one analysis, American partisans’ voting is more influenced by their animosity for their rival partisans than by their liking for their fellow partisans, a tendency that has grown steadily since 1980. Our results show that partisan animosity also encourages people to tolerate unethical moves by their own party’s leaders - and thus can erode democracy." "Here’s what persuades Americans to support democracy over party" by Robb Willer and Jan Voelkel, Washington Post, Sept 13 2022, www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/09/13/midterms-election-deniers-republicans-democrats/
