Heinz Wilhelm Guderian (1888-1954) was a German military commander, colonel-general (1940). Son of an officer. Participant of the First World War. In the interwar period, he became an organizer of German tank troops. Outstanding military theoretician, author of the book "Attention - Tanks!" (1937). He supported Nazism. During the Second World War, he commanded the corps, the 2nd tank group, the 2nd tank army, was the inspector general of the tank forces and the chief of the General Staff. Distinguished himself during the Polish and French campaigns and at the beginning of the campaign in the USSR. In September 1939, he hosted a joint parade of the Wehrmacht and the Red Army in Brest together with the Soviet Brigadier General Kryvoshein. After the war, he was in American captivity, later participated in the creation of the Bundeswehr.
