POSTCARDS OF WINDSOR ESSEX AND ONTARIO.
Conceived in 1960 and born in 1961, The Leamington Tomato has been an iconic landmark for Leamington for nearly 70 years.
Originally, a collaboration between the HJ Heinz Company of Canada Ltd., and the Town of Leamington.
Initially utilized as a Tourist Information Centre for the area, following the recent restoration (in time for Leamington's 150th birthday), it will now be repurposed.
The Big Tomato will become a versatile space for community events, including beverage sales during Mill St. Markets and other forms of targeted civic engagement.
Congrats to the Town of Leamington for making the decision to restore the Big Tomato. Their efforts reflect the commitment to preserving Leamington's heritage.
This initiative will ensure that the Big Tomato remains a proud and significant feature of Leamington's landscape.
