My grandfather used to say "a job worth doing is a job worth doing well", so I decided to put in the effort to build a finely crafted display case for his service flag. He was in the US Navy.
I designed this case myself and built it out of black walnut. In this video I build the display case and I add descriptive comments and thought processes as subtitles, if you are interested in the details. The top joint is a hand cut mitered dovetail joint while the 45 degree corners are simple miters. The front panel is 1/4" plexiglass, and the back panel is MDF which is held in place with two permanent and three removable dowel pegs.
Thanks for watching. Feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts, and don't forget to subscribe if you like content like this!
