Cause it's in harder material (stainless steel) and you have greater surface area it's even stronger to shear and even even more to fatigue than original threading.

Стружка осталась между зубьев шестерни! На днях проделывал такую работу. Только вместо вставки, применил шпильку, она надежнее, меньше нагрузка на резьбу. Резьбу нарезал 3х проходным метчиком, так для алюминиевого сплава лучше.

I like to put mine in the end of the drill, running slowly forwards and reverse. Probably not best practice but you can easily apply pressure whilst keeping it straight and true

Is that a time sert? Question some idiot took an impact to my Harley drain plug m12 I got it out and had to use an m12.1 x 1.50 x 15mm oversized drain plug now I’m over by .10 can I still use the m12 drill and cert or do I have to go up to an m13. The m12 was oem. The treads ripped out while taking the old one out. The oversized piggyback drain plug is only .10 bigger I’m not sure what size tonorder

The Loctite is unnecessary on bolts that small, in aluminum. Those springs go in and won't come back out, if there was so much torque on the bolt, it would just strip out the thread again. There isn't enough force when loosening that small bolt to back out the insert.

A true Craftsman woulda protected it rather than think a vacuum was the answer, myself as clean as you had it I woulda used a piece of plastic bag and tape and put a little deflected up

@@soulfishertoo luckily I am lucky and nothing happened. I half ass a lot, normally works. If I was pressed about rebuilding this turd I would take more precautions. And I didn’t strip the hole out to begin with ya dick, I had to repair just about every bolt hole on this from the previous idiot. I am very fortunate that you took the time out of your day to comment on my half ass video i threw together on my iPhone. At the end of the day, I, as in my thumb and my need for speed, are the only problem that machine has because I beat the shit out of it. I hope it blows up so I can make more dumb videos like this that get half a million views and pay me. So do I really care? No. Thanks for your input though I really don’t know what I would’ve done without that little bit of “you should’ve done it this way”. the spring is so you can use the OEM size bolt and not have to use a bigger bolt like if you just drilled and tapped it.

Just put some locktite on it and it should stay in place, mine have held up really great all summer with me beating on it. The helicoils stay in just fine and are super strong. You can remove the bolt as much as you need to in the future without any issues!
