Yes, there is a small opening on the top/side of the backpack. Sorry I didn't mention this in my video (I seldom use water bladders).

I recently acquired this bag, found it to be great so far, I haven’t yet used it out in the field as I’m still looking at shelter and sleep system options. I do have the Alton goods 3x3 tarp, bushknife, hatchet, headlamp, path finder SS cook system, and Lixada SS folding stove system. Along with water filtration am yet to put anything in the main compartment. I want to be minimalist but be able to sustain myself for a week. Processing fish and foraging for food. What is the handy small folding table ?

Sorry for the late reply! I recently got myself the Nemo Tensor sleeping pad, and it is really quite impressive (for me). Pricey, yes, but in my personal opinion, well worth the money! And considering how I've tried out quite a few different cheaper alternatives, I wish I've gotten the Nemo sooner. That foldable aluminum table? I got it pretty inexpensively from AliExpress! Takes a min to set up, but it's lightweight and pretty robust! 😀

I have seen two reviews on this backpack and in both the pronunciation of the name BERGEN has been BERJEN when in fact it is a hard G, and comes from the Norwegian Bergan rucksacks that were adopted by the British forces in particular the Army Commandos and later the SAS, Airborne Forces and Royal Marine Commandos, where it has become the generic name for most large rucksacks in the British forces. So this should be called a BERGEN with hard G, unless Helikon has called a BURJEN or BURJON to be logical.

@@Hong.Wanderlust The original military frame used by the ww2 guys was leather and steel with cotton webbing straps, and curved frame by the waist. Because it was so hard it would impinge on the back near the kidneys, cause sore skin, and often blisters, it was given the name "kidney cruncher" or "kidney crusher", my father and uncle both used them in the forces, and made me use one until i graduated to more modern packs. Most soldiers of their era would pad the waist strap with sponge and tape it in place, same with the shoulder straps, and because it had no chest strap it would pull the ribs apart and make breathing more difficult, they were a SOB to use. They were not good for the back many soldiers developed "bergen back" seemingly bent over as they walked, i have worked with a number of former Parachute soldiers who have that permanently due to excessive loads. I thank goodness modern packs are so much better, kit can be lighter, but not always, and their are some terrible pack designs still issued to troops and found surplus for civvies. Luckily i never damaged my back. All the best, stay safe, happy trails.
