Thanks mate, I almost think these are falling on deaf ears these days. Hardly inspires me to do more! lol

Please stay inspired! My ears are not deaf, but they are ringing with anticipation and excitement. There is a lot of info to take in. These are very informative explanations and tutorials that help me understand how I can utilize all the options in your beautifully executed apps. I have one question in the randomization section … is there a plan to increase the options to include randomizing note lengths, velocities, etc. in the future? Or do these options already exist?

@@frankantalec7871 This is a long standing feature that is in need of an update, and that will be the first thing to add. I was thinking that as I created this video, but to be honest, I didn't know if people really use the randomization at all.

Invaluable, brilliantly done Paul. With regards to Invert Colours, it does feel like the default should be black lines = black notes and grey/white = white as Default. Also, I agree with you when Enabled Scale is on Invert Colours is better with black lines showing notes out of scale. However, this messes up the previous Invert Colour. I think they should be separated so we can have both modes saved in a standard template as we like it. I’d go one step further and ask if the colours in Scale Mode should be different, using a lighter shade of that blue for the horizontal lines for instance - to make it even clearer which notes are in and out of scale and leave the grey/white and black horizontal lines for the non scale mode. Something for you to hopefully consider for a future update. Didn’t realise you’d implemented Quantise To Scale too. Helium really is exceptional

Well at least in your case this video was worth the effort. The options on the long press MENU button (such as Invert Colours) are global settings and saved and remain set until you change them. I appreciate the kind words and will consider your idea for scale mode.

Hello Mr. Paul. Recently, I have testing loops in Helium with Tone Packets, sending data to Strummer. It works good (I had to set to 1/8 forward the packet send, because in default mode on, there was a delay) but, when the loop restarts, the first note always plays late, like if the “warning” to strummer wasn’t sent, only in that case. Other issue I have (nothing to do with loops) is that when I finish to send chords to Strummer, from Helium or from any other midi app, the only way I find to stop Strummer is going into it and deselect the “arp” button. And the las one, the arpeggiator of Strummer is habilitated to 72 steps, but the “length” menu only allows to select max 64. I am finding the combination of Helium and Strummer the most exciting. Thanks! PD. After messing around a little bit with Helium, I finally got friends with “loop”, but doing such things as erasing a chord and recreating it again, moving chords from one place to another and then back again, moving the loop to chord one… It even works now with Default Mode ON, with no need to send packets a quarter earlier or so. A little bit weird, but I understand it. Such a complex app has always it “character” (as I know too well as a former programmer myself, now retired). The case is I know I can get through one way or another. Thanks again!

Ok, sounds like you are setting up strummer incorrectly if you have to manually stop it. You need to enable Host Sync and set the Input mode to 'Piano To Guitar (Control)'. In this mode Strummer will stop playing once you release a chord. Setting the Tone Packets anticipation to anything above 0 (ON) will not work well with loops, so you need to set it to 0 and it should work fine with Strummer running under AUM.

All fantastic features; I’ve already used a couple of them, but great to be reminded. PS: can you explain what is the difference between using the chord track and simply entering those chords into the note grid? Is there some additional benefit or functionality to changing chords entered manually on the grid to a chord track? Thanks once again for a brilliantly thought out app; I use Helium all the time…

I kind of explain the benefits in a couple of my previous videos, and it mainly boils down to users not having to know the notes of the chords, and if using Tone Packets the notes are physically sent as a single entity not a group of notes. This helps with starting and stopping arpeggiators and ensuring they all get reset properly. The choice is yours though.

How about swing?

Long press Time Sig for Swing, you can do 1/4 and 1/8 note swing. I still have another video to do as I don't like going over 30 mins, so I will mention it in that video.
