Actually DP2 stands for diesel prototype 2.It was a class 50 prototype using a deltic shell as a donor platform for the mechanics.Nice review by the way

Hi Paul. Glad you were inspired to get one !, actually the DP2 was the second in line for Deltic prototypes, DP1 being the blue NRM deltic with the centre Lamp on the bonnet . The DP2 machine was to become after a number of modifications, the class 55 Deltic .

DP2 was the prototype for class 50. DP1 was the prototype for the Deltic.

I Have now got DP2 for myself I got it from my local model shop I saw yours and I decided to buy it my certificate number is: 138 of 2,000 limited run. you also get a head code spare one. this was the prototype for class 50 and had 2,700BHP
