The comments at the end about being flexible with the concept of who is leading and who is following is good advice even for those who are really keen to work together. There's a saying I've heard for team based games, that "It's better to be doing the wrong thing together, than the right thing apart". For example, just because you might know that a certain objective is the higher priority, going there alone just to die is pointless if no one follows. Sure, your team ideally 'should' have followed you, but they didn't, and thus the decision to keep at it anyway is still a mistake on your part. So instead helping them finish whatever they were preoccupied with and continuing to ping and try to guide their attention, may sometimes be the better option.

I just bring crossbow, dagger, thermite, with commando, 380, rocket sentry and autocannon sentry. This loadout basically covers any possible situation, be it gunships, anti-infantry, anti-tank, anti-bot drop, fab sniping, base destruction, covering retreats, positional protection, and whatnot, letting me play any role that's needed by the team at any given moment. (swapping out one of the sentries for HMG emplacement is an option, but I like the flexibility of having 2 sentries to cover positions where needed)

Crossbow's damage is so busted lol. 2 shot body shot damage with that ammo and stagger is nuts. Plus blowing up fabricators. No other weapon compares. Even the DCS or Dominator require headshots. It's in a league of its own, basically a support weapon in a primary weapon slot. I wish they'd keep the damage this high, but drop its mag count by 2, it'd make it actually have a tradeoff besides "can't be used close range" which can be easily solved by most secondary weapons.

This is a definite struggle playing with randos. Sometimes you luck out with one or most that are willing to pay attention to your loadout and play, the fight stays far less frustrating. Most time, you have individuals that "Leroy Jenkins" the whole dive. I have found many times most divers, including myself get into such a hot gunfight at an OBJ or sub-obj that its non-stop chaos and reinforcing, when in reality we should break contact long enough to regroup and shift attention to a different angle or hang back in a good Battle Position and wait for that built-up hoard to come to us for us to smoke.

Playing to your builds strengths is super important against bots. What usually gets people in trouble is taking too long to deal with threats. Vs bots you need to knock problems down fast or you risk being over ran. Crowd control is also often neglected against bots. Large hordes of basic bots, scout striders, butchers or devastators can cause just as many issues as a factory strider if left unchecked. You should always have a response in case of bot drops. Screening out patrols is also important if you want things to go smoothly. Turrets and mines are perfect for that. The HMG turret is good, but so is the standard mortar and rocket turret. The benefit of using turrets and mines on patrols is that enemies do not deem them threatening enough to call in reinforcements. Bots will never call in a drop when focused on a lone turret or minefield, but will almost always try to call one if they see an offensive stratagem or a helldiver. I found an interesting interaction I wanted to share. You can use mines to amplify the damage of other stratagems. This is most notable with anti tank mines as they deal a lot of damage. Toss the mines in a base then add any other stratagem that can set off the mines. If your lucky the resulting chain reaction can level an entire base. I learned this by tossing AT mines into a mortar base. One of the bots set a mine off and leveled the whole base, mortars, fabricators and all.

One of my friend groups favorite tactics is to have someone (typically me) split off and as the main team gets close to objective the other guy engages a patrol or POI to get a drop or breach called in on them, letting the main team storm the objective without worring about them. Works really well with bugs. I even try to stay close and bait patrols into engaging me instead of them and spend most the misson drawing as much heat onto myself and away from them as possible. When it works it's glorious... when it goes wrong, gee does it go wrong fast. But its a good time.

Good video. You got my thumbs-up. I like playing heavy-armored, independent sniper. Supply backpack and heavy armor give me lots of survivability, i try staying further from the engagement so that i can cover fire with my AMR. Also, with my loadout i'm able to easily make side objective so that the team wouldn't need to waste time on them. I usually have least deaths in squad and i love covering my fellow divers from distance. When i'm with my squad i prioritize striders, hulks and gunships since i'm able to finish them off without wasting precious AT ammo and super quick.

CommisarKai, have you given the grenade launcher - supply pack combo a good try in the Bot front? i'm feeling like a proper bot counter now, it hurts against tanks but you get two whole strategem slots to work around that. anything from disposable anti tanks, to precisionnstrikes, or gatlings. if you REALLY want those devastators dead though, there's always the shield emplacement though!

I (usually) go solo but when people happen to join me I usually help out by shooting things that are chasing my teammates and giving tips on where to go using map markers/beacons. Also the people who join me have a habit of not having any medium armor penetrating weapons (for some unknown reason) so I, with my eruptor (explosive sniper rifle thing) and my quasar cannon, deal with the heavily armoured enemies from a distance (I find the devastators relatively easy to deal with and hulks can be one-shotted from a distance or upclose by shooting them in the face or back with the quasar cannon. Shooting them in the arm does not one shot. Oh also dropships, I can deal with them as well.) I usually use a, mostly stealth based, generalist loadout. Infiltrator/scout armor, the eruptor (it is similar to the explosive crossbow but in a way that meets my weapon prefrences), the first pistol you unlock from the free warbond (I forgot it's name), thermite grenade (to deal with tanks but can also be used to destroy various automaton buildings when my quasar cannon is cooling down), quasar cannon (basically an infinite use/ infinite ammo anti-tank), sheild backpack (protection and the infiltrator armor is not the most durable), and my play style is mostly a mix of stealth, sniper (explosive due to eruptor), heavy explosive strategems (usually eagle strategems), anti-aircraft (when with squad-mates it is much more focused on anti-aircraft then in solo), and destroy/complete every objective/automaton outpost/bug nest. I am semi decent when swarmed (that is where the heavy explosives come in).

I think a large tip is to actually put some thought into reinforcing. If you are on the other side of the map and a person dies trying to do a main objective it is probably not a good idea to reinforce and you should let one of the other teammates do that. On top of that though you can reinforce right on top of where they died so they can pick up their weapons but if there is 3 hulks , 40 chaff, 2 tanks, and some striders it probably is not a good idea to reinforce them there, you're just feeding them to the bots.

My go-to is railgun, supply backpack, rocket turret, and a 380 barrage. Crossbow, laser secondary, and thermite grenades. I run the spirit of democracy armor passive now. The extra damage bots do now completely nullifies the benefits of heavy armor with fortified. The 50%/50% chance to live or die literally mitigates more damage than heavy armor with 50% less explosive dmg taken... think about that.
