Dual lasers is one of my favorite Automaton loadouts to use simply because of the unique overheating mechanic featured in all laser weapons. In a game where ammo is limited, the laser family of weapons provides an interesting opportunity for an unlimited amount of ammo provided that you manage the heatsinks of your weapon to prevent overheating. The main downside of using lasers, however, is having to adjust to the rhythm of intervals between firing and cooling your weapon.
This is why this dual lasers loadout really shines, since it takes the overheating weaknesses of both the Scythe and the Laser Cannon and turns it into a strong synergy between your primary and your support strategem. By swapping between the two weapons once one becomes close to overheating, dual lasers allows you to output a near constant stream of dps. Furthermore, the laser cannon is somewhat of an underrated Autocannon alternative - it’s capable of taking out all the Devastator variants, three seconds to the engine of a Gunship is enough to destroy one, and a few seconds of the laser cannon to the eye of a Hulk will kill it. In our secondary slot, I like to bring the Grenade Pistol, which I can use to destroy fabricators while allowing me to bring Stun Grenades for easy hulk headshots with the laser cannon.
However, to make the most of the constant dps of the laser weapons, aim is crucial - which is why we are bringing the shield generator pack to lessen the instances of flinches and ragdolls. And to ensure that we don’t get overwhelmed by large swarms of bots, we’re bringing the Eagle Airstrike which also has the added utility of destroying fabricators from afar. The last strategem we’ll bring is the Orbital Precision Strike, which has a short cooldown that allows us to take out the occasional tank and fabricator. If I get the urge to meme-build even more, I’ll swap the OPS for the Orbital Laser, which brings a third laser while also giving great fabricator-destroying utility and the ability to obliterate entire bot drops. Just make sure to plan out each of the three uses you get to make the most of the Orbital Laser.
Overall, this is a very strong loadout that gives you the utility to take out just about anything the Automatons can throw at you. The added survivability that the shield pack brings, in addition to the practically unlimited ammo that comes with the use of the dual lasers, allows you to survive for long periods of time without a resupply. If you like being a self-sufficient team member who occasionally breaks away from the group for some solo play, this is the loadout for you. (shame I got team killed at the end xD)
