Danielle. I understand your feelings and your memories of Dan’s dad. Those are your thoughts, your memories and feelings and are valid. It’s not about the word narcissist. Dan is highly defensive when it comes to his Dad. Hmmmm We get it Danielle. Narcissist or not!❤❤Love you!🥰😘. You are being real! And have overcome a lot!!!❤💐

U said it right Dan, those are Danielle’s experiences. Maybe he wasn’t with you, but with her it was Narcissistic Tendencies and you can’t change that. Her life at home was different than your life at home! Just try to understand her side. The truth hurts, that’s why you’re getting so angry.😡

Yikes! I have a sister just like Danielle. Super big heart but it's ALL mucky muck with past unresolved resentments to the point that ONLY their experience with the SAME person counts. It's sad, because everyone experiences a parent differently and every parent child relationship is different. If they'd FOCUS on the positives of that person it'd go such a LONG way for family. The condescending, snarky comments are a defense mechanism and frankly at their age,they should have worked thru this. Accepted that people are human because as long as they stay focused on everyone else's transgressions they won't grow emotionally. And unfortunately, they will be judged as harshly. Have your experience, work thru it, learn from it and don't find release in airing EVERYONE else's dirty secrets.

Narcissistic people love helping strangers while leaving family members without.….. Narcissistic people are not always Vain…… Danielle Love your honesty… Thank you for sharing your life experiences….. Why does Dan need to defend the history of your own life with Ed? Ed sounds mean-spirited by picking on the obvious flaws of others…. Narcissistic Personality Disorder, please, Dan, let Danielle have her own POV….. 🦋

Take it from a shrink, there are different types of narcissism. You can possess traits … everyone does…. But it’s the severity of the characteristics that differentiate narcissists. You do not have to have all the criteria to be one. Just saying. But gaslighting is a big method of operation for them. I don’t know if he is or isn’t. But control are gaslighting and ESPECIALLY insecurity are narcissistic characteristics. Having NPD isn’t the same as acting narcissistic. She’s not saying he has the disorder.

Most importantly, with all these unresolved resentments, it's not ideal to be the primary caregiver. You too, are HUMAN, and that's a recipe for disaster. I think you could benefit from counseling and perhaps save your whole family from repeating what can be a vicious cycle. I'm sure you'd hate for your kids to share everything you've done to hurt their feelings when they are in their 50s.

@pennyroyalbleach

Uhhh “sacrifice” can mean sacrificing ur time relaxing to go help your mom fix her coat rack. But taking care of a man who you had very hard times with most of you life and doing it well, with little to help from his blood. How is anyone but Danielle, Dan, and Mark sacrificing? Please enlighten us. Nit wit. sacrifice is NOT obligatory. People who do it are just better people than those who don’t. And I’m not even talking about others needing to sacrifice but a little help or phone calls to show u care is pretty bare minimum. Takes no time.

It was pretty evident Ed was and is stingy and controlling. You have aright to tell your story. Dan I don't think will admit any of that. If the family don't like it too bad. And I totally think you're a saint to care for a person that you hated. I often wondered why the rest of the family never helped. Maybe they agree with you. Dan is young and maybe did t see it all. But does love his dad and protective of him. Stay true Danielle

Exactly, here in NC if you’re a general practitioner u start out around 95-150,000. That’s why people go into specialist roles and we have a shortage of general doctors. But I digress. For what it costs to go to med school, it’s bullshit.

Looking at his questions to others they are very superficial and status directed. Ed has the same build up speech for every person he is speaking to. Now I can see how there is a disconnect on a personal level. It is kinda sad for his children I’m sure. No real gut connection. Perhaps that carries into his disbelief of even fathering six children. Everything was about the money and how could he keep the most in his pocket. Bare provider and wives that HAD to also work to really have any of the extras.
