I have a lot of hoyas, but I keep most of mine in semihydroponics, but I will try and give some tips! 1. Tiny pots. My hoyas love being rootbound. 2. Fertiliser. They like fertiliser, especially in the summer, also they seem to love sunlight where I live. Keep them under growlights the entire year 3. Some of your hoyas will be stumps. I have one that is still a 2 leaf rooted cutting after two years. Just refuses not to be a twat and its a carnosa grey ghost! 4. As the saying goes in my country's hoya community: the first year is to survive, after second year they thrive. Most of my hoyas are now two years old and they are finally starting to shoot some more tendrils. Patience is a friend!

Okay, first I am still laughing (sorry). You crack me up and for that I thank you!! Maybe your hoyas have FLATMITES!!!! I had a few that just stopped growing for quite a while, so I decided to un pot them, gave them all a hot water soak for about 15 minutes, let them grow new water roots and then repotted them in Pon. I also now foliar feed them along with the regular fertilizing in the self-watering pots. Mine are really growing for me now. GOOD LUCK with whatever you decide to do. 🥰🥰🥰

A lot of people that had Hoyas with stunted growth that fixed it. You can't see them without a microscope so I treat all hoyas with the sulfur spray just in case. Plants also love sulfur so it doesn't hurt them.

I don't grow Hoya so I can't offer any experienced advice. You might try putting one in a different media and setup and see what happens (what is the worst that happens, it finally gives up, right?). Many people seem to grow them well in semi-hydro or in self-watering setups. I don't know how available coconut husk chips are there, but they hold a lot of moisture while remaining very airy and can be used in self-watering. My struggle for years was with Rubber Tree (Ficus elastica), I could never get the watering right and they always died. Self-watering with coconut husk chips/perlite/charcoal and my current one is thriving.

@@singamajigy I have a bunch of my hoya outside from spring to autumn. South balcony in the South of Germany, but I do try to create a bit of shade for some. You will start seeing a bit of decline at first, because they are not used to direct sun. But most will bounce back pretty quickly. From my experience: Hoya Elmerii (Mindorensis), Buotii, Erythrina, Pubicalyx, Australis, Macrophylla Albomarginata (this one keeps dying back in winter, but it can take insane amounts of sunshine in summer. Frustrating plant, though), Carnosa, Rotundiflora are doing great in direct sun for hours on end. I have a bunch more outside that are only in direct sun for a few hours, then the sun moves a bit. They are all doing just fine. The only two I noticed shouldn't be in direct sun outside (inside is fine) are Caudata and Lockii. But feel free to experiment for yourself.

Now, to me, at the stage where they are at they look GOOD. I Think you are being too hard on yourself. You have changed places of living and plants have their own life cycle. I think you should just continue to take care of them and BOOM you will be shocked and blown away. We plant lovers cannot dictate to these plants exactly how they should behave in any scenario. When humans make or have changes in their life they don't just adjust over night. It's taking you time to adjust to situations with family. So we can't expect plants that are living like us to just adjust according to what we think or Believe they should adjust. Be more patient, be sure you don't over water them, give them nice light. Forget about for the minute how long you've had them of late. If they exploded in the past they will again according to their own internal life. But all of them plants you showed looked very nice, they were just small in size. I'm enjoying your slice of plant life Prince. Thank you and stretch your patience much more. Imagine the patience of the God above watching us humans keep going in the wrong direction waiting for us humans to finally get it. And another thing you can do and it'll sound strange to you pray to the Father and ask Him to guide you on the hoya journey. Nobody in the Universe knows plants better than the Great One and you know why!

The only reasonable answer for THIS DISASTER is clearly, there is a demon in your house, and those Hoya are feeling the negative energy 😭 there is no other explanation

Your glasses look great! What was different in your previous house? Did it have brighter light? Was it cooler? If your current house is much warmer than your previous house, maybe your Hoyas prefer slightly cooler temperatures Also: Do you fertilise often? I fertilise my Hoyas often, like once a week or so, with a weaker solution than recommended on the packaging Do you keep the soil moist or dry? If the soil is always wet or often completely dry, they get stressed and sometimes stop growing Is the soil mix chunky? (They seem to like that, but where you are they may need to be watered very frequently then) Obviously you are in a warm area of the world, so your current problem is most likely not “too cold” Do you know someone near you who grows them well? They would know best what to do and which things you could use that are available where you are. (Often when I look for plant advise, the recommended products are only available in the US and I cannot get them here) 1) looks like Hoya Biakensis splash 3) looks like Hoya Nummularioides

Oh wow thank you for such a detailed comment. They grew underneath a 70% shade net in my previous place. They have no shade net here but don’t grow where the sun gets to them but I think they might still be getting way more bright light than there are used to ! I only just recently fertilizing them this year and not even as regularly! Thanks your comment really helped put somethings into perspective. I’ll move them away from where they are into my veranda and fertilizer weekly henceforth

@@TheMillennialPlantDad Every place is different… downstairs here the window on the north west doesn’t get much light because the house across the street blocks it, however upstairs it gets very intense light for part of the day, such a difference! Downstairs is very humid, upstairs is quite dry… And that is the same house 😂 If you try the fertilizer thing, make sure to do a weaker dose 😊 I notice a lot of people say that Hoyas thrive on neglect, I am not sure about that. Where they are from (South East Asia) they get rained on a lot, the roots attach to the trees, so when it doesn’t rain, the roots don’t get much water so they can tolerate some “dryness”… however…. theres still humidity. If your soil dries out quickly that shouldn’t be a problem, as long as they get watered frequently. But yeah… your best bet for tips is if you know someone locally who grows them well 🌸

Hoyas like it cooler in winter, high humidity, dry roots, low fertilizer, low sunlight, they grow slowly, and you're not supposed to prune them. I have no hoyas, this isn't their kind of apartment. Maybe if you put sand in the soil?

Hi Ebuka😌🙌Hoyas don't like to be in direct sunshine at temperatures over 30℃ 'Bring them to the shade'. If the Hoya dries out and is really dry for many days, then it can lose roots fast 'put the Hoya into a cache pot and that prevents the roots getting too dry too fast between waterings. Another reason may be that the potting medium keeps wet and doesn't let in oxygen so the Hoya's leaves yellow from root loss. All these things cause yellow leaves, so it is the root system that is rotting or dead. Unpot and check🤲💞
