Now that I was able to remove the temporary support pillars, I was able to tackle the plumbing. Following the pipes, I smashed the concrete slab until all the pipes were exposed, which of course were very awkwardly routed, but not even by chance was I ready for what I then found!
The main sewer pipe, to which all the drains of the upper two apartments are connected, except for one toilet, are simply pushed together, two smaller into one larger! The joint wasn’t even cemented but open, and it was constantly leaking, not only that when someone flushes the toilet the water even splashes over the edge of the pipe! These pipes were installed about 30 years ago, so it was leaking all this time, which is also confirmed by the amount of earth and worms under the pipe.
Even the pipes inside the wall in the bedroom were no better, there were two damp stains on the wall that confirmed that the sewer was leaking, and it was. The large 45-degree joint leaks every time someone flushes the toilet, and it even looks like they’ve already installed it cracked, as it looks like they tried to seal the crack with tar.
Even the plumbing is no better, rusty poorly galvanized pipes thrown into the walls. The pipes are even so bad that when I was smashing the plaster on the walls around the pipes with an electric hammer, my grandfather ran down to me and told me that rusty water was flowing from under the taps.
Plumbing and sewerage is one project for which I expected less work, but now it is clear that it is a logistically huge project, as it is necessary to disable the whole house to carry out the work.
Негізгі бет "Help! I Wrecked My House"- would refuse this project! ( Plumbing and sewer repair - PT1 )
