Just got my kit today in the mail. I opted/upgraded for the "skinny medic" pouch in my order. The quality of your pouch and the layout is by far the best on the market. Thank you, Sir

I guess I had my head in a cloud for all the years I was a Firearms Instructor and Range Safety Officer. I had basic first aide kit in my patrol SUV but mostly bandaids Triple antibiotic cream, burn cream/dressing, make a sling and makeshift tourniquet and some 4x4's with roll tape. Best friend was a Paramedic and my first wife I put through ADN/RN. The more i watch and listen, Training shooting, movement side to side, forward and back, even zig zag. You hope and pray nothing happens but sometimes it does. You should be prepared for anything that may happen. I was really blessed with no accidents worst that skinned knees and elbows and a scratched, dirty firearm. Thanks for bringing this to me and open my eyes. You Da Man Skinny!

Good stuff Skinny. I think this is a good idea for anyone doing wood processing, or anyone that is backpacking or going to be a distance away from civilization (homesteaders, etc.), where serious injuries could occur and an EMT bus isn't going to be quickly available. I'll have to check out your website.

In a WROL/SHTF event and being shot in the chest or abdomen areas, and you had a hemorrhage, one would have to decide how bad the wound is. If you could stop the bleeding on the outside, the bleeding on the inside would not prevent the loss of life. So if a loved one was shot in these critical areas it would be a tough choice to make, because of the unknown damage inside the body, and limited supplies.

Its a good Idea, but I would have added a few items like duct tape. Always useful when short handed, 1 hemostat, 2 (extra) cat tourniquets, 2 pairs of gloves, 3 combat gauze, and two field bandages. That is what I carry. When I was out in the field, I found that it was unusual for just one person to be injured.

Skinny, let's say someone had a gun shot wound that went clean through the body. You would want both the entry & exit covered so you should carry two combat gauzes correct? Also, what do you do if the person goes into shock?

You are correct about having more than one CG. If I had a patient is shock I would cover them with a blanket. I would then start an IV to give them a radial pulse.

I have Von WIllebrand's Disease. That got me to wondering if there is anything you would add to the kit for dealing with people with bleeding disorders like mine? I don't think you would carry DDAVP in a kit, would you?

Are you type 1, 2, or 3? Then I could answer you better.

You need to find out. Type 3 is very serious. Type 2 has at lease 5 sub categories. That is why I asked what type are you.

@STONE GUY: WRONG. Breathing is not primary. If you don't stop major life threatening hemorrhage, by the time you're done screwing around with the airway, the casualty has lost all of his circulating volume. Get some training and stop thinking like a street medic.
