@@glow1815 I keep mine next to a window that gets good morning light (not were sun hits it though) and when I got it it came in a very small pot that would dry up very often. It didn't really grow much and I noticed that roots were growing outside of nursery pot. I changed into a slightly bigger pot, added a small amount of fertilizer into water when I repotted it and within a week or two sprouted about 5 new leaves and currently sprouting a bunch more. I water it less often, even though its in same bright spot. It takes longer for the soil in bigger pot to dry out. I have let the soil get very dry in the past (forgetfulness) and it doesn't seem to mind it, but it also wasn't growing. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, it is a sturdy plant that thrives with care but won't hate you if you neglect it a bit 🤣🤣🤣.

@@glow1815 You have to take care with watering if you're using organic material as potting soil. If you pot it in an inorganic medium, or literally dirt, it'll take lots of water as long as the pot can drain relatively quickly. It's all in the potting mix. This nursery uses peat because that's cheap in Ontario and the rest of Canada and because they run a business. Also, no one wants to lug around giant pots of dirt or sand as they can weigh over 100lbs depending on the size and mixture, so they use organic peat or wood products while taking great care with the watering.

At 0:38 he said each branch of the Money Tree has 5 leaves that represent; Water,Wood, Metal, Fire and Earth. Although I don't consider myself as having a "Green Thumb", all the new branches and leaves that grew under my care, (since I purchased my Money Trees from the store) dwarf the original branches and leaves, and there are 6 to 7 leaves. I WAS TOLD BY A GREEN THUMB FROM CHINATOWN THAT I AM DESTINED FOR GREATNESS..

This a good plant for indoor once you got the ideal conditions for growing. Costco sells this for 25 bucks cad and around 4ft tall. I bought mine with so many stems with 7 leaves together. I still find it hard to maintain it and trying to understand what the issue is. Some leaves turn brown by the tips and some went light green. I just did a deep watering on it. Make sure your pot have drain holes for excess water to drain; otherwise it will rot the roots.

Getting a bit nervous. Got our moneytree for our unity ceremony for our wedding. We placed it in our entry way because there are two great windows and that room, it gets a little humid in the summer, and because my cat isn't allowed in the entryway. Now fall and winter are approaching and my entryway will be far too cold to keep it there. But if we move it inside we don't have any good windows for it to get light, and my cat has already shown me how much she likes to eat the leaves (she got in the entryway while we were on our honeymoon). No idea what to do to solve this dilemma. I can't just give up and let it die because it is a living representation of our vows... ugh I never knew a plant could make me this stressed.
