Henry....hard to find in my area, I missed a few deals in the past....but I did find a Rossi r92 tripple black in 38/357......works great..... I'd still like to have a Henry big boy octagonal barrel.....

Get some snap caps, and you can run that sucker all day long. Its actually one of my favorite bits of lever actions and revolvers is you can actually practice the full cycle of the firearm.

Great Video. That is Exactly what I want to do with my Silver Henry .44. I love shooting it with the buck horn sights but I want to go hog hunting with my son and want to use the Henry. I will certainly look at Phoenix Weaponry and Midwest Industries. Thanks again for a great video.

Great choice for aging eyes and keeping a low profile optic on a lever gun. Your Henry looks fantastic!Nice rig. I want the variable scopes off both my 336 Marlins. These look the bed and are practical considering my levers are mostly used in the brush/woods. Well done-thanks.

I actually bought that same rifle last week. Should be at my FFL Tuesday. The absolute first thing I'm replacing is the sighting system. I have a spare 407K sitting around. I thought about this set-up or perhaps a receiver mounted peep sight.

I suppose you could always use canned air to blow out moisture and debris from under the mount. A little unconventional but it should ease your mind.

Stay away from this mount. The screw holes are so shallow that you only have a few threads grabbing. They don't provide screws that suit the holosun, yet they specifically make it for the site, and having to grind down the screws provided by Holosun isn't easy, and if you mess up, you have another issue. Getting new screws from holosun, who's customer service has been just terrible, as I have been trying to get replacement screws. Stay clear of this mount

Henry rifle did not have the skelentize mount for the 44 big boy for the micro prism from Primary Arms. You must be specific in ordering the skelentized mount as to which red dot it’s for.

Unfortunately this gentleman is incorrect with his assessment of putting a scope on this rifle. I have this rifle with a Leopold on it and it is phenomenal. This gun is not meant to be shot with a red dot. You need to use it with a scope or open sites.
@evanescent0311

why is that a "need" ? just because it feels like a bastardization to you and incompatible with the wild-west mentality? or is there some other reason? i can understand personal preference but interested if there's more to it that you've discovered

I have a Rossi 92 ( could not find Henry) and weather it is meant? To be shot with a red dot is a mute point if you can shoot it faster and more accurately than with stock iron sights. Mine is a lot more fun,faster, and accurate than with irons. Would I go back to irons on this fun rifle, NO WAY

His concerns are for a low profile are in line with my thinking and he’s provided the perfect solution for a gun that’s practical for 150 yard snap shooting. I have regular scopes in both my 33 Marlins and will be replacing them with these shown on the video. Yes the scopes give me a refined magnified view, but a poor field of view - not good for quick shooting. I like the solution provided on this video. And now I’ll have an excuse to buy two new rifles when I swap the scopes for red dots. So cool all around.
@Tony_Seed

All these lever gun calibers are 100 yard and in guns, a red dot will do everything the rifle will do, I would argue you shouldn’t put a scope on one of these ,excluding the 243 long ranger
