I was at ringside for this fight....Brian London's face was already bright red by the end of the first round, but he was a game boxer and he went the full fight.

Good fight. I never knew Cooper had such a great jab. London is a wonderful sport, and his style reminds me a lot of George Chuvalo - keeps plodding forward, full of guts, and nothing looks like it hurts him or will stop him. Cooper would slaughter that foul-mouthed fatso, Tyson Fury...so long as he didn't get seriously cut.

"They've stopped the bleeding of Cooper's nose, but for how long, I don't know. Depends on London". LOL great understated British commentary.

37:07 Oddly enough, it was London, not Cooper, who got a world title shot against Patterson less than four months later.

Two words. Great warriors. Two words. Great respect. The only jab that would have taken these two warriors out, is the Covid jab.

Coopers Manager, wouldn’t let him get in the ring with Patterson,or Liston. Until later and I think he did fight Paterson. Probably because his manager knew how easily Cooper could get cut. And that was Coopers problem. He could easily have become a World Champion in those days. But for that problem. Loved Henry Cooper,my boyhood hero.

Left hand from Cooper, fast and accurate, one thing I've always wondered, why didn't Cooper take the Patterson fight after this ? I know Patterson KOd Cooper years later but who turns down a title shot ?

I remember hearing this fight on the radio ad a boy, and when I was 12-13, I started boxing. My first tournament That I went to won my first fight just using my left hand. I don't remember ever throwing the right. Henry Cooper reminded me of my fight, although he used the right hand, not that much, he didn't really have to, he did all the damage with the jab. Two great fighters of their day, And I loved the sportsmanship of two of them AF the fight.

I have NEVER seen so many jabs land, snapping the head back in any fight. Copper great jab----London had no real clue how to not taste it.

I remember a free for all in the Ring at the end of a London fight,( always contentious) when someone tried to get in the ring, and London head butted him. Probably about 1968-9. As a young guy,I thought it was hilarious. The Scot’s would call it the Glasgow kiss!
