Thank you so much for this. I'm 69 years old and can't ride like I used to (when I was 45 I road the 200 miles from Albany to N.Y.C. in 23 hours!), but this is almost as good as going for a ride myself!

Like another person stated, you only did a small part of the trail. Its only a few blocks from where you started that the main teail exists, heading west to keyport. Then a few city blocks through Matawan where it takes you through all of the way to Markboro, then a couple of miles it picks back up, taking you to Freehold. Really nice trail. Unfortunately, there are several road crossings which are nearly blind for either the cars, or you.

I live in Manhattan and love riding that trail sometimes. It also continues in the opposite direction all the way to Freehold, NJ. They did a lot of work on it over the past 5 years. Great video!

Always wanted to ride this trail, but since moving out of the area that is no longer possible. Darn! It’s a scenic ride. Like the ride back with the setting sun and distant thunderheads.

Looks awesome! If anyone is really familiar with this trail mind helping me out with a couple questions? 1. That starting point, what address or maybe landmark nearby can I punch in where I can park in or by? 2. The trail by that Fort loops back around to the route you just came from, does the path loop back around on its own or do you need to know where to go to head back? 3. Any idea roughly how many miles this was from start to finish back at same point you came from? Thanks!!!

Thanks. We parked at the Atlantic Highlands Yacht Club and took the trail right from Harbor Park. There were multiple ways to loop back; it wasn't difficult to find one. The total loop was roughly 20 miles. It's a great trail. Enjoy and have fun!
