These kinds of things are always a tradeoff between RPM, feel, and efficiency. I was also expecting a small increase in fire rate, but maybe it needs stronger gas to drive the system. I ended up sticking an actual AK spring in my GHK AK and using CO2 absolutely manhandles it. Of note for anyone else, heavier springs do decrease felt recoil (usually you'd want the trade for the increase in RPM or you'd stick a heavier bolt carrier in there to compensate) so just be aware of that before you buy these kinds of upgrades.

With a heavier piston and stronger recall spring you would need to up the gas pressure to increase the ROF
@peter11256
10 ай бұрын
You do get a faster cycle speed on the way forward (going into battery), but the opposite is also true on the way back. A higher pressure must build inside the nozzle to drive the bolt backward since it must overcome the higher tension that the stronger spring provides, which takes longer.
@Orion_5764

That's exactly what I was thinking as well, but he literally tested it. The fire rate is increased. The increase in forward speed overcomes the decreased reverse speed in this case.

I think it would make more sense to use a lighter bolt setup with the stronger spring? Especially when looking for a higher ROF? It seems to struggle now, yes it returns faster, but it cycles to the rear slower and with less authority, almost like it's not even fully cycling, that's what it sounds like at least. I'm pretty sure the felt recoil is less aswell. The original sounds like it recoils harder, but man that return is just.. pathetic.. lol.

Hi Oli, I had a question gas types for TM Airsoft guns; should we use green gas or 134a gas? The reason I ask is that on green gas my tm mk23 leaked, also my mp7a7 leaked. Should I use green gas in Akx or 134a? Thanks Jay
@OllieTalksAirsoft
11 ай бұрын
Above about 25°C it may be best to use 134a but below that Green Gas should be good. Mags are also more likely to peak if you leave BBs in them so make sure they're empty of BBs for a longer shelf life.

Hi Ollie I’ve bought a AKM and I’m wondering how to carry the mags. Seems like a silly question but I’d genuine like to hear how you carry your mags for the AKM. The Bakelite style fit into the common 5.56 pouch’s but I found the curved steel 7.62 style are a weird shape to carry. Would like to hear your solution, thanks and keep up the great videos :) Ps. It was more at the level of sensation, but the first thing I replaced on the GHK AK47 was a spring. Initially it seemed weak to me, but after I installed the RP-1 charging handle which increased the weight of the bolt group, the return became somewhat sluggish. So decision was obvious, Bow Master 130% Spring. I didn't measure shooting speed but I was happy with those changes as return became more snappy and sound louder and brighter.
