There is a satoyama called Konoyama in Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture.
At an altitude of 296m, it is an independent peak and has been popular with people since ancient times as "God's Mountain".
It was a mountain where "water of life" springs up for the people living in this area.
For this reason, Konoyama has been cherished by people as a mountain of rain-making worship.
However, Konoyama, which was involved in the war from Kamakura to the Warring States period, gradually declined.
And for those who have developed their industry and don't need much of the blessings of the mountains, their symbiotic relationship with Konoyama has diminished.
After that, Konoyama became a rough mountain where no one could enter.
However, in recent years, volunteers, schools, companies, etc. have participated in nature restoration activities, including neighborhood associations, in an attempt to restore the nature of Konoyama.
In the mountains, there are forests with interesting names such as WOOD, trees, and trees (Ukki) forests.
From such activities, Konoyama seems to be gradually regaining its old appearance.
This time, I took a walk in Konoyama, which is getting better.
The forest, where people are working hard to maintain it in a satoyama-like atmosphere, makes me feel kind.
It would be great if people and nature could coexist well.
