Hi there, thanks for all the very informative videos. I have a similar set up as yourself. could you tell me how you managed to get backyard eos to recognise the older Canon? cheers.

Thanks for getting back. That's great, I'll have a look into it. Have a 550d. But looking for a cheaper alternative to modify. Thanks again.

Hi Mark feels like ages since I spoke to you and you kindly gave me lots of beginner advice in March. Hope you keeping well. I'm using the EQ5 but can't help notice the HEQ5 sounds very noisy. I've seen a belt mod upgrade and there's a great blog with instructions here done by a guy called Steve Bassett it removes the grinding and improves pec and tracking, guiding etc. somptingastronomy.weebly.com/blog/heq5-belt-drive-upgrade I'm looking forward to your next images and any vids you make. Take care, Andy Milner, near King's Lynn

Hi Andy yes the heq5 is a bit noisy but that's just the gears it works great so I'm saving up for an Ha filter which will keep me busy in the winter ;-)

@@boodlewoodlewhy did you upgrade? Thinking about using the eq5 as well but a lot of people tell me it’s too small for a 8“ 200p Newton telescope
