Absolutely stunning animation, so fluid and colors are beautiful. This has me thinking if there's more meaning than what's shown at surface level. Great job, keep it up!

I just went through heartbreak and I have to say this film feels like that metaphor for me. finally getting something, thinking "this is it", only for it to be snatched away. you dwell on what was, and go through every step of grief. everything around you stops, you beg for it back, you feel anger, and then eventually acceptance as you let it go. the sunsets of life are bittersweet, somehow beautiful but painful. you take what you learned from it and create something better, you find yourself and grow

I love the way you explain the short film, it sounds so poetic, although I'm sorry to hear you went through that heartbreak, but let me just say that I can't help but notice how your eyes emit a beautiful green like precious emeralds, as if they are radiant gemstones filled with spring's light and energy allowing you to see the wonder in every scene you write. I just had to say that.

Funny how the youtube algorhythm is pushing this short back to the shore now. Absolutely lovely work. The delicacy of all her movements and expressions, the elegance of the lineless look (one of my favorite looks in 2D animations), the Porco Rosso-esque color palette, the nod to the legendary Father & Daughter... So many things work wonders in this short. Hard to imagine that this is a student's work. Looking forward to what you're going to do later on (or even now. We're already 3 years afterwards. Hope you could find a good job befitting your skill in the animation industry)

I think it was Orson Welles who said the best film is a lucid dream. This piece captures that blurring of the real, super-real, surreal, and dream. Opulent colors, fantastic detail without being finicky. Colors glow, beyond what the sea and the shore are capable of. All without a word of dialog. Just absolutely wonderful.

Man, I wish art and animation styles closer to this were more common in larger productions. The character design, the mixed methods, the colour theory, it's all so beautiful. Even with a totally different soundscape, I'd watch something led by this creator
I watched this on the steam during the San Diego International Film Festival. You had some stiff competition. But this short stood out to me as the one that should have taken best short award. Absolutely stunning work.

We treat our first steps, first experiences, first artwork, first success, our first job, our first dream as close and dear into our hearts that when life take it away it is devastating. Almost feeling hopeless to try again. Being lost and grieving to what is lost is all part of the process. We give up and felt like there's no anymore hope to continue. But maybe the things we've lost is the one who'll bring us into much better place to try again. As we bring our memories of our first, we go forward to the next, better and maybe a little bit wiser. We won't know how many loss is on the way but the possibility of rebuilding and seeing our growth along the way is there. What a great reminder through this animation. 😭

The 3D animated shots blend way too well with this film. It's really stunning to see such visuals bleed together; especially with the way the water is animated. This, in addition to the nearly line-less art style, is really gorgeous to say the least. I'm genuinely captivated by the character's story, emotions, and connection with what I can only describe as her only friend. Marvelous job to the team that worked on this! I would love to see more, if there's any in store, for the future! Cheers! ✨💖✨

I love how her hair length changes show the passage of time. She had that red boat for a good long time and then in the end her cut hair shows another time skip. Amazing work!
This to me reminds me of the pain and fear of being forced to leave behind your beautiful light filled childhood as you start a new chapter of life in the adult world. It's a tough battle of realization with a harsh feeling of loss to encompass it. Learning to embrace your new world as an adult is the most beautiful part about this, as that embrace does not mean completely starting anew, but taking with you the precious memories and lessons you learned as a child and incorporating those into your life. All is not forgotten, and it is the memories that make our lives full of nostalgia and beauty. We do not need to ever completely leave our childhood behind to grow up. We simply need to embrace the change and remain true to who we are and remember our roots. I feel like this is just the type of thing I needed to see.

I don’t know whether I liked the movement of the waves when she was helpless at 4:37-5:05 or the way the sun hits her after the storm at 5:33 more lol. I could never imagine having the bravery to animate the ocean cause it seems so overwhelming and yet here it is. Really great job, I can see the passion put in here ❤️

Really love this short, especially the atmosphere, and the way the pace holds when she's grieving her boat. Idk if it's intentional or not, but the scene where she use a piece of the old boat as a part of the new one reminds me of the philosophical thought experiment; Ship Of Theseus. I think it's a really brilliant short film

Hello! This animation is so beautiful and gorgeous, its amazing!! I think that this animation has more to the inner meaning than the surface level story. That girl shown here may depict someone who is trying to hold on to a loved one and is trying her best to get them to get better ( like repairing the boat), or maybe she has lost a loved one and is still trying to hold on to their memory and is not able to let them go and move on. The boat is that loved one and this animation might symbolize the trials and tribulations of life ( the storm) related to the loss of somebody very dear to us. She goes through many hardships, not being able to let them go she only has their memory left and is trying to just hold on to it. But at last when the boat is swept away and broken down by the storm, she has to let them go and faces grief and depression too. At last when we see that she has cut her hair short and made a new boat, it means that she has fully moved on but holds on a piece of her loved one ( the piece of boat, which symbolizes a memory I think). I can be wrong, but this is just my perception of the meaning of this video. I tried my best to explain lol sorry if my explanation is bad, English is not my first language.

I think it's increadible how within just the first minutes I already got emotionally attached to the protagonist. Her self-contained, simple but pleasurable life has such a sentimental beauty to it, how she found happiness in complete solitude doing something she clearly love, something that satisfies her even at the cost of being absolutely and completely alone. I truly felt her pain during the climax. I am truly speechless, I don't know what to say. This was simply a masterfully written story. With the reacurring element of that drawing of her and the first red boat. How, without any usage of spoken words we can imediatly understand how simple yet beatifully full of life her daily life is. The impact of the storm coming closer and the emotionally charged moment of her losing the red boat, but not it's memory because she still had that drawing, that simbolized the conection they had. I am just rambling at this point but I just wanted to say that this is truly an achievement, it's not easy to make the viewer so emotionally attached to an inanimate object like that. This has simply way too many positives, I didn't evem mentioned the stellar animations, really amazing 👏👏

If you replace every piece of a boat, is it still the same boat? Was it ever the same, from one moment to the next? Maybe the familiarity is what makes it the same at all. Maybe it is only a different boat when you replace its place in your heart.

A sadness i would i have felt if i was still a kid and lost something, and it's something i DID feel at one point in the past. I like how the ships on the beach represent those who came before the girl, in a way showing that she wasn't the first and won't be the last, and how the boats in the ocean show what she wants, but first she had to experience what it means for it to come full circle. this way she has a deeper appreciation for what she has. Something many people learn through life experience. This is just my opinion. I don't know if you had this interpretation in mind, but either way it is a very good story. I enjoyed watching it.
