This sounds fantastic,😆thanks for including the very helpful update - that it has helped your mum & how, for saying how much to use, how to use with oil & separately & I weirdly enjoyed how satisfying your foot soak looked 🤣😅 I'm going to make some this weekend to try for my circulation issues, will gift some to a friend & my neighbour's daughter who had an ankle injury not long ago, if I enjoy them as much as you & your mum, they will definately be on my christmas gift giving list. You are so giving & empowering Heidi 🥰

@@HeidiVillegas I finally found time to sit and soak my feet. I altered the recipe for pain, tingling, and slight neuropathy along with the circulation. I used Comfrey and St John's Wort oils. I also added a little bit of Magnesium Flakes into the baking soda/salt mixture and Balsam Copaiba for extra pain relief. It was so soothing. I can see me using this a lot now that barefoot season is over, and I have to wear shoes.

My mom has the same foot issues and I am going to make this for her also! What were the jar sizes you used? And could you use organic ginger powder instead of the essential oil? I don't have that essential oil yet. Thank you!

I used two pint jars for the mixture. And you sure could use some ginger powder. I think that would actually be a nice addition, even with the essential oils! Good call, Cheryl!

Hi Heidi, sounds wonderful! I will try this 😊. Did you use steam distilled lemon essential oil in your blend given that it is not phototoxic? Also, for how long do you soak your feet?
@HeidiVillegas
Жыл бұрын
Hi, Monalisa! (LOVE the name! :-) I didn't bother checking the phototoxicity of the lemon because this is a rinse off product and is also in my feet/legs, which are generally covered. If it were going on the skin as a topical rub on product....absolutely the phototoxicity would matter tremendously. You can soak for as long as you're comfortable. I soaked about 15 minutes, mainly because I can't sit still for long! lol

Hi! Thanks for sharing your wisdom :) My dad has very poor curculation in his lower legs and I would love to make this for him. The only thing Im struggling eith is the arnica and comfrey infused oil - is this something that can be purchased or do I need to make it (not sure where to buy dried arnica/comfrey or what oil you infused in?)? Sorry for the multiple questions and thank you again for sharing your knowledge!

You can just use regular olive oil, if you like. Or, consider infusing some rosemary and peppermint leaf! :-) These would be wonderful, too.

This sounds wonderul. I not only have circulation issues, but I'm on my feet (on concrete) 8-10 hours a day. Unfortunately, I'm also low income. And essential oils are fairly expensive so hard to stay in my budget. Can I make infused oils of the other ingredients like peppermint, lemon, rosemary and the ginger and use those?
@HeidiVillegas
2 жыл бұрын
Hi, Vickey! Yes, you can infuse the peppermint and rosemary herbs with the other herbs in oil. It won't be quite as powerful, but will still be helpful. Also, if you were to purchase Plant Therapy essential oils, you'll find they're very inexpensive overall and of very good quality. Check them out and the prices on the rosemary and peppermint (both are inexpensive oils). bit.ly/34cqzYU

I wish I could use essential oils, but my skin can't handle it.
@HeidiVillegas
2 жыл бұрын
How are you using them? You should never use them "neat" and always dilute. If your skin is sensitive, you may need a VERY low dilution, perhaps 1% only to start and with benign oils like lavender or geranium, which are actually good for the skin. ***If you can use fragranced products (laundry detergent, lotions, and other items), then you may just be using too much or too high of a dilution of the essential oils. They're very powerful and great understanding needs to be used with them.❤️

Do you sell your products
@HeidiVillegas
Жыл бұрын
Hi, Sharon---As for right now, no I don't sell any products. I just teach through my online school, in my work with clients, and occasionally in person. Based on FDA rules and guidelines, herbalists are not allowed to both share information about the benefits of medicinal plants in health related terms AND sell products at the same time. It's a fine line we walk. I used to have a products shop, but decided to teach after a time instead because making what you need is truly easy once you know how.

when you added the essential oils directly into the salt/soda blend for a 1 pint jar how many total drops would you add in? The amount that was in the 1oz dropper bottle or cut in half or double? This is for a healthy adult. Thanks
@HeidiVillegas
Жыл бұрын
Hi, Laura! For a healthy adult, I'd go with a 2% dilution of the total amount of the baking soda/salt mixture.
@melissaheathcote9822

Hey Heidi, Would you keep the dilution the same if you used this on hands for arthritis?
@HeidiVillegas
8 ай бұрын
Hi, Melissa! I made this video quite awhile back and can't remember the dilution. But for hand for arthritis, I suggest a dilution between 2% and 5%, and this would depend on some factors such as the age of the client, whether or not they're on meds (and if so, what they are), and other general indications.

And one more question for my father who is 81 years old, is it possible to use this formula with salt and baking soda and same essential oil for whole body soaking in the bath or not. Thank you for reply
@HeidiVillegas

I would cut back on the essential oils to about 1/3 of what I used here due to his age and it being a whole body soak. But really it works great just with the feet! :-)

Would this be safe for my 14 year old daughter who has a cold constitution and her feet always cold? Can I also use this mix in my Foot Spa?
@HeidiVillegas
9 ай бұрын
Yes, your 14 year old should be fine, as long as she's not allergic to any of the essential oils....and these are GRAS (generally regarded as safe). I'm not sure about your Foot Spa? Be sure to read the manufacturer's directions for that.🥰
