You can add hot water to an alcohol tincture dose & let it sit till the alcohol evaporates, if that helps anyone. It might not all evaporate, but at least most will. But now glycerine is on my list!

Unfortunately, I can't even have alcohol in my house, even just a little bit to prepare a tincture. I am a recovering alcoholic and it's too much of a trigger. Glycerin or apple cider vinegar will be my go-to for extracts.

Thank you for sharing the method for making non-alcohol tinctures. I'm a firm believer in getting away from alcohol wherever you can. I'm blessed to have fresh herbs for most of the year where I live (sub-tropical climate in Auckland, New Zealand) so preserving herbs isn't such an issue--I can drink fresh herbal teas daily. The sweetness also makes it so much easier to get the 'good stuff' into children 😄

When digested, alcohol converts into simple carbohydrates (i.e. sugar). That why higher proof (ABV) has more calories. Ounce for ounce, not sure which had more calories, alcohol vs. glycerin. But, when I’m looking for a late night snack, instead of chips and cookies, I go for 2 ounces of bourbon.
