Being a student athlete is tough and it's even tougher if you don't have a guide or a person you can lean on throughout the process. Without having a guide it can feel like you're just wandering in the dark using the light on the back of your cellphone to just try to figure it out. If that's the experience you're facing or if you know someone that's a student athlete; I have two things that you need to do so you can lessen the amount of growing pains associated with being as student athlete:
1. Get me free Ebook entitled " 100 Ways To Win As Student Athlete". You can download this book within seconds at www.giraffestudentathlete.com. (Available July 1st)
2. Subscribe to this channel! I'm the only content creator on the net that developed nearly 1000 videos all in an effort to develop student athletes in and out of their sport. If you are pressed for time , check out my KZitem Shorts
There's so much value student athletes can learn from Bronny James but too many people are focused on the wrong things. When I hear people talk about Lebron James' eldest son Bronny James Jr, it seems to focus on him "only" averaging 4 points a game within his freshman year at the University of Southern California, him only being 6ft 1 instead of 6ft4 of what he was originally listed of and if he's getting all of this attention because of his dad. The conversations that are being had is that he should go back to college and take his name out of the NBA Draft prospect list.
Only time will determine if his skillset and talent will translate over to the NBA but there is so much more value that can be extracted from his documented journey that I'd like for student athletes to consider. If you're not a student athlete, be sure to send this video to a student athlete that can use its information.

Don't Say Plan B or Back Up Plan To An Aspiring Pro Athlete
TELLING ASPIRING PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES THAT ONLY ONE PERCENT BECOME PROS AND THEY NEED A BACKUP PLAN, WHILE WELL INTENTIONED, IS BOTH SILLY AND TONE DEAF. THIS BOOK IS A GUIDE OF WHAT TO SAY AND DO INSTEAD.
It would be like you finding the person you want to spend the rest of your life with and planning a wedding. What if on that glorious day a person shows up at the wedding and says" Hey, I know you're really excited about marrying this person but lets talk about coming up with a back up plan or a plan b."
Regardless if they meant well; how would you respond? What if they explained to you the odds of your marriage not lasting and backed it up with data and statistics? Would that change your mind? Or would you call security to have the well intended person escorted away from the venue?
The problem isn't the information. The problem is the timing and the packaging of the information. Don't Say Plan B or Back Up Plan To An Aspiring Pro Athlete not only explains the mindset of aspiring professional athletes when they're pursuing their dreams but it also provides parents , coaches and educators ways to equip athletes with actionable steps for the journey ahead.
This book is a tool that is designed to assist those that want to have productive discussions with student athletes and or college athletes about the odds of going on to play professional sports. The current messaging to student athletes about going pro is convoluted and lacks the understanding needed to meet student athletes where they are instead of where we think they should be. Teachers, coaches , parents and other student athlete advocates have to understand that though their intentions for the student athletes may be well intended, the messaging behind it cancels out any progress. This book helps to bridge the gap of what you're attempting to communicate with the student athlete in a way that hasn't been communicated before. This book includes impactful self reflection questions (Inquiries for Implementation) that you can utilize right away to assist student athletes in a way that equips them and also supports them , while accomplishing their dreams.
Referencing the million to one odds, showing the percentages and averages of not making it is pointless. It may feel good to "tell them how it is" or at least how you perceive it to be but it's off putting and non productive.
