@craigellsworth3952 Diffraction, edge diffraction and baffle step are important issues, that need to be considered for cabinet and speaker baffle design. I always get worked up and excited by the many GR-R product offerings, as each category has unique attributes. The open baffle offerings may be the closest to my audio heading, with Maggies in one system for the past 10 years. I get what Danny is talking about speakers that are fun to listen to... the "old school" 12" 3-way, would not be one to worry about heating voice coils, over extended power listening sessions (while testing high power / amplifier designs) even on a robust 8" 2-ways. PS Audio is having trouble with their floor standing speaker via their inclusion of internal subwoofers. In fact, they had to add a subwoofer in the listening room because they lost the lower octave due to in-room response cancellation. How is the phase relationship down in the lower levels handled in this speaker?
@badd99
8 ай бұрын
The servo amp has its own phase control so you can dial to your room as needed. The low end can do anything you want it to do. I have a stereo pair of triple 12" servo with my nx otica and the flexibility of bass is hugeeeseee
@Joshualbm
8 ай бұрын
@@badd99 Yeah, but those triple 12" servo-subs are probably set up in the room where they are best suited to room effect and not directly under the main speakers. There is only so much you can do with controls. Setting up a pair of speakers for stereo imaging has its own set of tweaks and adjustments. The ultimate position, for the mains, however, may not be so for low bass.
@dannyrichie9743
8 ай бұрын
The use of the phase control that is right on the amp isn't about the room response. It is about dialing in the correct time arrival to the MTM section right above it. The EQ system built into the amp will help with the room response. The level control and extension filters can be used to dial in the room response as well.
