true photorealism is pretty tough to pull off especially if you're compositing into real life footage. Easier to fake realism with things that'll trick the eye than actually achieve an image that looks photoreal (especially for beginners)

definitely been talking about him a lot but I think it fits with what I'm tryna push which is mixing 3D with editing workflows. I have a lot of different artists and things lined up to talk about next :)
