That was a lot of fun Chris! I've definitely thought of the suspension upgrades to all Ohlins like we spoke about but the brake and wheel enhancements are great points as well. 100% right on with the change in direction between bikes. It's effortless on your V4R while my base V4 is noticeable. Wheels and suspension are huge differences + I gotta do GP shift after this. Looks like I have some budgeting to do to get more parts 😆. If you’re trying to get the regular V4s closer to an R, comparing new to new at least, it seems like the more cost effective route is to start off with the V4 S. Seeing as it comes with most of the upgrades you mentioned you would do

Could be, but the electronic suspension is the hang up. It's also starting at a higher price point as well.

Remember what separates the R from S and standard is its engine. So if your at 38k with the parts you mentioned your not including the main upgrade which is titanium connecting rods and valves. The rods from Pankel are $2,000 each not including labor. Even then it will never have the value as an “R”

I considered that, along with getting the crankshaft balanced (Fox Performance) and a few other things, to get the motor to spin up faster than the R. Yup, the R might eventually hold its value more, but that's more intrinsic. Now the parts I mentioned will get that base to a heck of a level and make it a phenomenal machine.

The base model V4 makes more power than the R after a tune and exhaust on both bike Just doesnt rev as high . There are hundreds of you tube videos showing this and also all the more torque it makes
