He have one of the few backhand that can go head to head with Rafa's forehand on clay and not break. Post injury Domi is more reliant on his backhand because he doesn't have the power to attack with his forehand anymore, we see him trying to hit more winners on his backhand side thus making more errors.

@@muneebi8273 I can see why you disagreed with Henman 😂 As far as Lendl, remember he played in the last golden age of serve & volleyers. His running backhand down the line crushed the spirit of those guys, McEnroe especially. Devastating shot. Sampras is about my age, so I watched many of his matches. I would certainly describe him as (maybe the best) serve & volleyer, but when I look back now at videos of him, I realize his baseline game was much better than I remembered. Perhaps you are correct that it’s not “Top 5”, but maybe it’s the most under-appreciated shot from an all-time great?
@pierdomenicosommati443

@@brettteeter3461 Sampras opted for the 1HBH extremely late into his development (I think he was almost 16y/o, and never trained this shot before!), a decision likely driven by some lack of feeling with his 2HBH, and by the idea that a 1HBH would've been more suited to the extremely aggressive lay style he was developing. Now we know that he and his trainer took a great decision, but it was a big hazard anyway! His backhand has always been underrated, because of that high elbow which made it look not very elegant and because of some bad days he sometimes had with that shot, both probably depending from the late development of the shot... but too many people are forgetting the fact that in his good day, with that thing he was perfectly able to overpower Agassi, even on the backhand diagonal.

He should have said he was specifically talking about male players, else you're completely right. Justine's bh is ridiculously good, seeing she's a woman of rather short stature she just found how to squeeze every bit of power out of the one handed backhand (for example hitting with arm unloading at 120 degrees angle) while still having a lot of control. Most textbook backhand ever. Stan is a physical monster so he can play a backhand while having his arm straight through contact while still getting plenty of power, which is also very interesting if you have the power to spare like him because of better consistency (one less body part moving). I'd say they both maximized the one-hander technique according to their body specifics.

The guy with the scariest one-handed backhand is Guga, so he should be the #1. This is my all-time best one-handed backhand list: 1) Guga 2) Sampras 3) Becker 4) Federer 5) Kraijckek. I needed to put Sampras and Becker before Federer because I have so much respect them back in the 90's. I mean we're not talking about Slams, just simply backhand.

Respect doesn't automatically translates to being better. Roger had to contend with top spin heavy balls of Rafa and Nole

Extremely inconsistent. If he isnt confident he just slices.
