First of all let's talk about safety for the CR-V.No body mentions the new airbag design called the catcher's mitt. Reduces brain trauma in a accident. The car has front knee airbags for the driver and passenger. Plus rear seat air bags. Revised awd ,engine and CVT refinements. Road noise? Swap the OEM tires out for something premium and it is quieter than your VW. Honda engineering for long term durability vs VW. Honda every time. Also, you seem to have a issue from the beginning with the new CR-V so it's no surprise at your pick. I like the Tiguan but if I was buying with my money, not leasing Honda every time.

I had a 2018, 2020, and now the 2023 Tiguan, and find they got better with each gen. A tad poky is my only complaint (although felt improved between gens I owned), does get great gas mileage, so a trade off there. I think they need to offer a Tiguan R with more HP.

The point is, in the snow, or cornering, it feels the rear moves, and pretty fun to donut in the snow, never stuck in the snow in Hamilton. Saw someone's awd hybrid rav4 stucked in an inclined in 20+ cm snow, I didn't, switched into offroad mode and it runs smoothly. I hope it can run up to 120000km, till I told it, hhh

When it came to options the CR-V failed to impress me as it lacked so many options the Sportage had on a car I was interested in which was the Sport Hybrid. The only reason the VW didn’t win me over to go with it was the lack of a hybrid. I wanted good fuel economy and reliability and the VW had neither. It had more options when available like IQ Drive and the lights and phone connectivity for lock and remote start Honda still doesn’t offer. I just couldn’t see the VW lasting me through the lease period. Esp with the issues VW has had with parts. Honda has the same issue but the probability of needing large service in comparison to the VW was very low.

Sory i will buy a 2019 second hand honda acura rdx awd a spec 10 speed over the 2023 tiguan and for less money
I used to think Honda is great, but then I started trying out other brands, and realized that my impression is prejudiced, firstly Honda interior is quite bland, it doesn't feel very expensive, but I thought that's the sacrifice you make for an economy car, but when I drove a Mazda, that mindset has changed, Mazda feels so much more upscale and elegant. And in terms of performance Honda just barely gives you enough power, while Mazda will give you 250 hp turbo engine and a smile. As for reliability Honda has built an reputation I suppose, but people like Honda more because of cheaper maintenance cost, otherwise there's nothing else keeping them from preferring a VW, BMW, and Mercedes really. But let's stick to VW since the other two are more of a luxury brand that competes with Acura. I think VW has a very attractive package with Tiguan, I've seen both Tiguan and new CRV in person, and boy Tiguan looks so much sharper. I've noticed that most people who stick with Honda has driven Honda cars since they were young so they don't really know any better. When I was younger I drove a Honda and I didn't think much of any other brand, but as I got older I grew out of Honda, and now totally into German brands, I just think BMW especially is leaps and bounds more advanced than Honda but that's something an average consumer would never understand unless you are a motorhead like myself. Anyway my point is Honda as a brand really has one thing going for them, CHEAP maintenance cost, that's just not good enough to keep me attached. I'll leave you with this, I've owned 2 Honda cars and 2 Mazda cars in my life, and I was more satisfied with Mazda.
Volkswagen looks more sophisticated and especially proportional. Honda has too long nose (bonnet) as if it was taken from another larger suv. Honda looks as unfinished product, black interior, slim and flimsy looking gear shifter...And I would love to see Japanese make a better looking car, but they always skimp on switches (Toyota, Nissan...) as if the are from 10 years ago. VW did great with the evolution of the car hands down.
