This was the first tutorial On KZitem in which someone actually dived deep into the extremely confusing Unreal Anim Blueprints and making them from scratch and it was really weird to see it on a VFX oriented channel, not a gaming one .

Yeah, I don't think this was too much for a first tutorial either. I think it hit the mark on what I was looking for and what I needed to know. If anything I'd say he went a little fast, might have stretched it out another 5min or so just slowing down.

Tip for when you need to add a Number: Hold 1 and click. It SHOULD create a Constant. Same thing happens if you hold 2 for a Vector2D (X,Y) 3 for a Vector3D (X,Y,Z) or (R,G,B) and 4 for a Color (R,G,B,A).

This is the exact kind of tutorial I've been looking for to get started with Unreal Engine. It's been surprisingly difficult to find a beginner tutorial that shows how to adjust the base third person character. A lot of the tutorials just drag in the preset character and use that, but I want to be able to learn how it's actually moving around. Would definitely like more UE5 tutorials! Thanks for this!

That was awesome!! The best, most detailed, most informative video on setting up animations that I've seen so far. All the others I've seen are 'drag here, drop there, click this, link to that, zoom, zoom, zoom' moving so fast with no explanation of anything that by the end I have no clue what's going on. That's probably fine for people who already know how to do it, but people who already know how to do it probably aren't out looking for these kinds of videos. Thanks for explaining things as you go. This was SO well phrased, like you said exactly what I needed to know, all of it. For example I always thought that the capsule around the character is the collision space and not the actual character. I learned so much in those 24 minutes than in hours of other tutorials. Thank you! :)
@MikeSmith3D
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Glad to hear it! The capsule does need to fit through doorways or it won't go through. Si in that way, it is a little like collision. Side note, if you want to see the collision objects for the model, double click on the physics asset (the ragdoll) and it'll open a side window showing all that stuff
