You are extremely welcome. NEVER FEEL DISCOURAGED. Always happy to encourage talented people. Some people don't even realize how awesome they are and they beat themselves up while I dunno whether to cry or do a positively admiring envious face palm. P.S: E2.M9 sounds especially awesome as hell too.

After listening from many soundfonts and remixes, your version of The Graveyard is the best of them all, by far. The instruments are heard properly, thus the impetus buildup becomes a beautiful feeling worth looping over and over. 💯

I like most of these tracks, you have thought about appropriate samples very much - except of Crypts, where the melodic part of bass is buried under other sound layers (12:27 and 13:12), and strings at 12:46 should have either faster attack or be shifted a beatahead. But still, GREAT WORK and I like it

And to think I wondered how come only *two* "Dome of D'Sparil" episode music pieces were covered. It turns out they reused the following episodes' pieces in the following episodes: "The Docks" = "The Storehouse" "The Cathedral" = "The Azure Fortress" "The Labyrinth" = "The Aquifer." That makes this the only secret level both to recycle what is neither boss- nor secret-level music, and, of all those in episode 3, to reuse a piece from episode 2. "The Gatehouse" = "The Ophidian Lair" "The Dungeons" = "The Halls of Fear" "The Citadel" = "The Chasm" "The Graveyard" = "D'Sparil's Keep." That makes this the only boss level to recycle secret-level, or otherwise non-boss-level music in the background, huh? Oh, and how could I forget one piece of Episode 2 music ("The Catacombs") hadn't been included, or that it was because it was recycled from "The Guard Tower." That means... "Hydratyr" had been using Episode 1 music all along.

+PlayingItOldSkool Hi, sorry for the late reply (KZitem...). I use FL Studio with Kontakt 5 and its libraries (sometimes I use FL Studio's synths or some older libraries that need other "players" like Samplelord, I almost never use soundfonts, though they are here and they're driving me nuts), after rendering I finish the work in Audacity (volume changes, looping etc.). I'm glad you like the music :)

+I GUARANTEE IT Thanks! This cover is one of the earlier ones and back then I used a lot of soundfonts, mainly for orchestral percussion, so its quality isn't great. Don't get me wrong, soundfonts are great if you want to just pass the MIDI file through them, but they need to be compact and as versatile as possible, so they're not very good for music making. Maybe I'll redo this one, someday, there are many things that could use a rework in here.

There is none, only for ZDoom, GZDoom and Zandronum. I don't even know how Doomsday archives work, you can try just making it yourself, filenames should be the same. Maybe Doomsday has a basic support for PK3 files now, so try the ZDoom version, maybe it'll work.

To tell you the truth, this is plain weak. The distorted guitar in e1m1... are you joking? E1m2... come on! You lost a subtheme that is heard in Adlib version. You don't just take a big soundfont and render that.
@Xeotroid
8 жыл бұрын
+covert heresy I never really listened to the AdLib version of the tracks as I was playing and listening to General MIDI version. You're right about the guitars, the distortion effect I was using doesn't sound very good with the instrument. About soundfonts, I used them only for percussion in the first few tracks (and frankly, it hurts my ears, I used something better in the latter ones) and the organ (the same deal). Still, thanks for your feedback.
@covertheresy9861
8 жыл бұрын
+Xeotroid Perhaps you didn't use soundfonts, but the result sounds much like you did. You have to improve much over yourself.
