The water they are talking about is called dialysis water (concentrates) citric acid and sodium bicarbonate powder the reason why dialysis is becoming expensive is because the consumables we use for dialysis is shipped from abroad and the government is soo wicked that they tax everything according to how the dollar is rising sheldon its sad oo . Sometimes its not always about the alcohol and stuffs but people with chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension who default their drugs. The kidney regulates the pressure and so if yu have hypertension and yu default yur drugs its likely yu will end up with stage 5 kidney failure

@Justlovinglyfe Kidney disease is one of the worse things that can happen to an individual and the sad thing is once you start noticing the symptoms then you've really reached the advanced stages so it's important that while taking good care of our health, we also do regular check-ups to identify any abnormalities early. Don't wait to see facial puffiness, or leg/ankle swelling or inability to pee or difficulty breathing. The leading cause of this problem is diabetes and hypertension so if you anyone with these encourage them to adhere to the recommendations by their healthcare professionals. The other issues has to do with abuse of some times of pain medicines (Gebedol, Kwik action, Diclo...).If you are in pain it is better to consult your doctor to know the cause rather than self medicating. There is a lot that increases one's chances of getting these problems including smoking (Shisha, cigarettes)- Seek help in avoiding these as it can be very difficult doing that on your own sometimes due to its addiction potential. Always ask your healthcare team about side effects of medicines you're given since some medicines may potentially cause kidney problems. Asking is NOT wrong! Better safe than sorry. Also keeping your weight under control is encouraged as obesity increases the chances of getting this disease. And sometimes too you'll do all these but unfortunately get it. It is rather sad that in some people their body is able to attack their kidneys and destroy them in a condition called lupus nephritis. Some may also be born with it and in such cases all we can do is to help such people with the best care and resources to prolong their lives as much as possible. If it is within your reach to help people battling this disease please do cause our kidney play a massive role is keeping us alive.

Kwadwo in the UK, they pay for all these. Your friends did not tell you how much the UK government generate from NHS. The UK government generate more tha £170 billion a year. In Ghana, how many people in the country pay tax. In UK, they say healthcare is free. The citizens pay for it. NI is deducted from each and everyone wage. Less than 10% of the working force in Ghana pay tax. This should be a collective effort. The government must take steps to make soo many people pay NHI. In the whole year each adult individual must pay less than 30 cedis, but check the records and look at the total number of people who contribute.
