Please, ask the British government what Nigerians artifacts are doing in their museum and how did they acquire it? Did they bought it from Nigeria? How much did they pay for it? Who sold it to them?

An approach to telling and showcasing our rich history must of necessity be regional. There should be nothing like centralizing things in Abuja. Abuja might be in the FCT, but there are people indigenous to that area so any museum in Abuja should showcase the culture of the middle belt. You can build world-class facilities in Nigeria all you want, the issue is that Nigerians do not have an appreciation for culture and history. We don't. We won't pay to consume it either. Nigerians think that the history of Christianity and Islam are their history because they embrace those. They spend good money, with the governments assistance, to travel on pilgrimages to religious sites in countries of the middle east. These artifacts will ROT in Nigeria and only get sold for pennies by a greedy, hungry monarch'.

A unity museum in Abuja is a welcome idea. Having a museum in Abuja telling stories of the different regions won't prevent the culture of the Gbagis from being promoted and showcased. Even in Benin city, the Benin museum does not have the whole cultural display of the Edo people, I think we should be more conscious about our rurality and ancestral heritage so that a liar will not one day come change our history

@@omo-kings I agree with you. However, it all depends on what we're trying to achieve. If it's commercial success, then we should have one centralized national museum that displays art from across the country which we can market to all of Nigeria and the world. Lagos would be a more appropriate location than Abuja because it is more international in status. If we're talking about appreciation for historical matters, which in my opinion is an important aspect, we need to get the curriculums in primary schools revived.
