One of the most perfect records ever made! It's always a real pleasure to see the late, great Derek Leckenby (lead guitar) again. Tragically, he passed away in 1994, after three decades with the band. He is greatly, greatly missed.

@MikeBlitzMag
3 жыл бұрын
@@raymondbonington9355 Because by that time, their U.S. label (MGM) was directing the bulk of its attention towards the Cowsills and Hank Williams Junior. Not long after that, they signed Michael Parks, Solomon Burke, Sammy Davis Junior, Wayne Newton and Lou Rawls, and their earlier artists (Herman's Hermits, Sam The Sham And The Pharaohs, the Animals, etc.) were pretty much left to fend for themselves. But Herman's Hermits included Something's Happening in their live set regularly throughout the 1970s. Saw them live about two dozen times throughout that decade. They never disappointed.

Definitely my most favorite Herman’s Hermits song. The title seems to be wrong - it is not “Something’s” but “Something Is” which is the way Peter sings it. Released on February 15, 1969, reaching # 130 on March 11, 1969. Sadly, it peaked at #130 - certainly Top 10 material. Certainly a magical time and a gentler, kinder world then. Thanks for the memories of 1969. Just took out my MGM 45 and gave it a whirl.

I lived in the greatest decade for music ....ever. The 60's. We had everything. Rock and Roll, folk music, rocka billy, R&B, the British Invasion, Motown and psychedelic ... we had it ALL. Haven't seen a decade like it since. Disco ruined the 70's for me lol The 80's was a reprieve. After that... I stopped listening to popular music.
