Thank you for this interesting series,. It never ceases to amaze me that in a time of full retreat they would waste tons (has anyone ever calculated exactly how much) of explosive to destroy, what are largely strategically useless buildings when it could have been used more effectively to crater roads, demolish bridges etc and delay the allied advances

to my knowledge Goerings house and main bunker were in Ober Salzburg next to Hitlers house. The wolfs lair was the operating base where hitler guided the war effort in poland. The large bunker at the start of the video is that bunker that was the Wolfs Lair main bunker that they used for high level meetings between hitler and the generals. Did you visit both locations in the same video? That Doesn't look like Ober salzburg. History tip.... the big Wolfs Lair bunker is where the explosives were planned to destroy hitler in the Operation Valkyrie capaign to assassinate hitler. Claus Von Staufenberg had only planned for 2 demo charges that if the meeting had been in the bunker... the explosive force would have killed everyone in the room. But since it was so hot that day, they had the meeting in the house on the property.

Thank you very much Ian, Chris, Fez & Andy for a really interesting history lesson. Your enthusiasm for the content you share really comes across in your commentary. It's been full of wows! Hope they don't make this place too commercialised though in the future, keep it as it is. You don't want to be exiting through a gift shop. Take care lads . ❤❤❤❤

Imagine the explosive force that damaged the bunker but couldn't destroy the bunker.

What an outstanding job on this investigation! Thanks to Chris, Ian and Fez...I knew no ropes or signs would keep you guys out. I've seen many documentaries throughout the years on this place and no one came even close to exploring it as you did! I've always wondered what's was in some of these buildings and now we know from what's accessible that is. I'm quite sure there's inaccessible rooms in there that still hold artifacts that cant be reached. When they had to leave in a bit of a hurry there's always something left behind. What would be absolutely great is to find the dump area for all the garbage that I'm sure isn't too far away in the woods someplace. That would be worth digging up for tons of artifacts! Its out there! Thanks again guys... fantastic series!!!

Great video, the other German officer in the picture may be Henning von tresckow he helped in the planned attack on Hitler. His grandaughter used to work for me and used to wear his ring which was an upturned spider on the gold ring
