Truth is that if you have never visited Greece and especially kythira before, you can't understand. It is a dry garden, no humidity in the ground yet you get the fresness from the trees. Pistachio and olive trees. It is a garden full of smells from the dry earth and the sea breeze that comes to meet your garden halfway.

I once lived on a citrus and avocado grove in the coastal foothills of southern california. We also had some wild brush, olive trees, and cultivated floral eucalyptus in a nearby parcel of land. This scent reminds me of that same feeling I would get walking through the grove with the on shore breezes blowing toward me from the Pacific. I am not sure why, but that is the feeling it gives me.

In my opinion the Jardin range shouldn't be finished. If they (at Hermés) look around in the world, they will find wonderful gardens all around, on every continent. Hopefully, they will get inspired by many of them and the range will revive. How about a Japanese, a Moroccan or a Caribbean garden? ('Un Jardin Japonaise'... sounds good!) And I would really appreciate a Hermés fragrance inspired by the garden of Monet in Giverny. It would be gorgeous!

I've smelt H24 EDP, i didn't hate it nor liked it. I don't find similarities with Cythere, which i love. The freshness from the orange / citrus beautifully intertwines with the creamy nutty pistachio and woody base from the olive tree note. Its on my short wishlist. I do agree that it doesn't strike me as a garden or nature scent tho, especially compared to Un Jardin sur Le Nil which is evocative as you said.

Czesc! I tried this last week. Big disappointment. The opening is very lemony like a "lave-vaiselle au citron" (lemon scented dishwasher detergent). I get the olive accent but it does not change the overall impression of cheap & weak and even if you say it in French it won't sound any better. My No. 1 Jardin will always be Mediterannee, followed by Mousson and Nil. After that I thought Ellena's creative juices kind of drained because the other Jardins were a bit like designed by the Post Office. Will continue to buy older Hermes creations especially Eau des Merveilles and Osmanthe Yunnan, but no more Jardins for me, sadly.

@@Persolaise What style? By the time Monsieur Li came out, there was no clearly defined style any more. Monsieur Li has a lot in common with Jour D'Hermes for example, which dilutes the personality of the line even further. IMO, a fragrance that belongs in that line is Sublime Balkiss. It's interesting that the ad copy mentions that there is no natural extract for pistachio. I have in my possession a C02 extract of pistachio intended for perfumery use, produced in Turkey. I actually did a write up for it on the Hermitage Oils site a number of years ago. I have a soft spot and a fondness for this collection. I discovered it at a department store in Nice while on a trip with my best friend in 2015 and bought 4 of them immediately. I wore them for multiple summers and they felt bright and perfect. I sampled this one when it came out and to my nose I get a strong boiling basamti rice smell which lingers on my skin. Not a big fan. I may repurchased a couple of the older ones for the nostalgia. ❤

Perfect pronunciation of the perfume name in French Dariush! As for the scent, I'm not fond of it. Much too sweet and culinary for my taste. It made me even a bit sick to my stomach. Both times I tested it, I had to put it away quite quickly. It's a pity, I usually really love the Hermès garden series us. My favorite being Un Jardin sur le Nil and Un Jardin en Méditerranée. Interesting that you found it sharp and fresh in the opening. As well as abstract and intellectual. To me it felt very thick (=dense), fatty, nutty and sweet. I agree on your analysis of this series: colourful, naturalistic, exuberant...I would add joyful, playful and optimistic as well. At least for Sur le Nil and Sur le Toit. Aromatherapy in bottle! I got the same emotional effect with In Love Again YSL (also Ellena) and L'Heure Folle Cartier by Mathilde Laurent.

Dear Persolaise, I got the scent today....I was using it for a test and I am still, let me say speechless. The first thoughts which came into my mind were, do I join a burial now? The floral development which instantly occurs was somehow like a morbid explosion of decay? They were hitting me strongly and I was more then confused what is going on. Then after approximately two hours it all went away, no nuance of a smell at all, but the security there is something left which is still doing well but not perceptible stood, surely said after two hours?!
