I think when Etho asked about the item-request-system, the thought he had was about the varying amount of items needed. For example, you want to make a dropper. A dropper needs one RS dust and 7 cobblestones. So when a crafter needs ingredients and calls one per ping, he has to wait for 7 pings to get all the cobblestone. This ofc is very very slow... but changing that is probably incredibly tedious if not impossible to fix. One idea that could help here would be to have more than just one number for some items (depending on how many free numbers you have), so that the dropper-crafter can ask for 4 cobble per call or something. The extra number just leading to the cobble via a small RS device extending the item droppage. But not sure if Tango could fit that in...

Idea to make the whole factory FASTER, aka usable. There is almost no way that you will need just one requested item in a crafter. When you take something from your factory it will never be just 1 thing. My suggestion is to put a pulse extender at each item input chest that will dispence more than 1 item per request (lets say 8). Yes, there will be overflow at the end (hopper minecart would have something in it at the end of the loop) but its easier to throw the overflow in the output line. Your crafters will be filled 8 times faster and overflow items would return to their chest (or burn if your factory is full full..., but that like max 7 items when your factory is full...)
@aleschudarek4672

In simple terms, if a hopper by a crafter needs items, dispense more then one. If anything in hopper minecart after full loop, drop it in the output line.

Saw this on your VOD yesterday, glad you got a break! I have semi-successfully built your factory in my survival world. Its slow, like you said but it works. It can even do pistons (takes 4 pistons) and dispensers (without a dedicated bow crafter again 4 pistons) so my question is how do you deal with item hogging? What I mean is say module A takes cobble and sticks and module B takes cobble and others. If module A is waiting on sticks (but not cobble) it will steal module B cobble (from 42-64) if it does craft then module B will never get cobble. Until module A is turned off that is.

Maybe redstone trading could work out, if you take it to the max. Could be a system that rotates through a lot of villagers so they come to you for the trades. It might need that twice, one for the redstone and one for the emeralds, plus a farm to provide whatever items work best for the trade. Dunno how far you'd have to scale everything up to get decent quantities, but it could be a cool project after the factory is done.
@fett4106

Just an idea….given that the factory is auto crafting supplies and then placing them down in chests would it be possible to use a dedicated line just like the mail system to send supply for the redstone shop through the nether and into your shop so that in essence the Redstone shop restocks itself. So I'm pretty sure with your auto crafting demo, what's happening is if an iron bar happens to land just as one of the redstone ticks occurs, it gets crafted into nuggets, then this causes the recipie to never quite complete the iron block coughed up ends up despawning. The fix would be to wait for all iron ingots to end up in the crafter before actually sending a pulse to craft, I.... think?
@Ekipsogel

Probably should change bar to ingot since iron bars are something else and tango’s powers of observation are lacking.
