Small note on Rule of 3. You can modify a combat value beyond +3/-3. It's often pointless as Rule of 3 will cap it. however it can be still be done and might be useful to counter modifiers in the opposite direction as Rule of 3 applies to the sum of all modifiers.

An interesting subtlety. Thanks for pointing it out.

It's a good point. If you're pushed and not doing anything for example and have a Perplex going spare then it could still be worth Perplexing up your defence even if you're in Hindering and have Energy Shield/Deflection because then even if they ignore hindering or Outwit your ES/D, you'll still be at +2 or +3 to your defence.

Not really sure where to ask this but do you have anyone like at home you could play with and would you ever consider recording a game? Not necessarily for teaching (although you could edit in where certain powers are being used) but more of as a lets play type thing? When I can't play Heroclix and I don't feel like just building more teams on HCRealms I quite like watching channels like MarriedWithClix play. I feel like with your track record of sound quality and tactics they'd be interesting to watch.

It's in the works... The plan is to film games that help new players learn how play, but full games are also planned. Thanks for your amazing participation on the channel (I try to answer a few comments each day); it's really appreciated!

Agreed! This Heroclix channel has the best sound quality, and I guess it is because he records after the video has been shot, so it's easy to do retakes? So a game session might have to be done the same way, after the action.

I think a combination of team abilities and powers is awesome in clix like the Superman from DC,or the Ultimates from Marvel and outwit to counter someone's defense or attack power when they are in stealth is a great way to make someone angry.

The replacement clause here is probably my favorite niche game exploit. A good character to use with this is fl001a "The Flash". His trait "The First Speedster" replaces his speed value with the sum of his current speed value and all current modifiers, completely bypassing the rule of three and (possibly) making modifiers permanent (still some debate over permanency at my local venue).

In a team with Purple Man (ADW039), I'm using Anarky (JW003b) for his Batman Enemy TA to replace Purple Man's attack value with Anarky. On a lower click, I've boosted Purple Man's 7 attack value to a 14 (11 from Anarky +3 thanks to Purple Man's Mind Control). So much fun sending those opposing characters where my bombs are ;o)! Regarding the second part of your comment, I'm not sure I see how modifiers could become permanent, though... I could be wrong, but if I'm reading the WizKids rules forum correctly, it would only apply to the effect/action (win.wizkids.com/bb/viewtopic.php?t=9887&p=21922).

Chase Leonadro can use charge and bcf and then with his special ability he is able to take 2 steps and make a close combat attack against an opponent he hasnt attacked this turn. My question is, does the second attack get to use bcf or is it seperate from the original action?

Quick attack question . . . do any other double rolls have any effect other than rolling snake eyes or double 6s?
@TheTabletopTeacher
7 жыл бұрын
Yes, indeed. When you roll doubles and hit, the attacker gains the KNOCBACK keyphrase. So you can choose to knock back the opposing figure (hopefully on a wall or off a ledge) as long as they don't have Charge, Combat Reflexes or are of a larger size.

That looks like Liu Kang next to Darkseid. Are there MK Clix? Or is that just a character I'm unfamiliar with? Third option I guess would be a custom.

So if an attacking character is adjacent to friendly characters that shares the same theme and key words does that give the attacking character pluse 1 ??? Pluse one added to the attack vaule
@TheTabletopTeacher
7 жыл бұрын
Nope... There is no such modifier for having a friendly character adjacent. A named themed team will give you some uses of Themed Team Probability Control, but not a +1 to attack. You could modify the attack value by +1 with Perplex, but there's no de facto modifier for being adjacent to friendly characters.

What does it mean if you have 2 lighting bolt symbols for ranged attacks? Thanks :)
@TheTabletopTeacher
6 жыл бұрын
It means you can target two opposing characters with an attack. You'll have to split damage dealt between the two targets if you hit both (single attack roll). Hope that helps.

Do you have to split the range as well?
@deancollins8001
6 жыл бұрын
Kirk Anthony As I understand, no. Your range remains the same. I believe you also choose how to split the damage. Eg. Darkseid slosh044 has a range of 10 with 2 lightning bolts and up to 5 damage on his dial (Darkseid is an absolute beast to play btw lol). You have 2 opposing characters in range and want to target both. You can hit one w 3 and one w 2. Or one w 4 and another w only 1. Or focus all 5 on one and hope to KO, etc. I think (and I'm still learning everything myself) the only real limitation is you have to decide before your roll and call it. 'I want to target x character for 3 pts and y character for 2' and then roll. This is how I've come to understand thus far from reading, watching and playing. Hopefully (if I'm not wrong) this helps.

Hey, man. One question: I have a thor which trait says: “Modify Thor's defense value by +1 for each 100 points of the attacker's point value”. That means that if a character of 500 points targets Thor, my defense goes up +5? I understand that the rule of three only applies to attack combat values, right? Or am I wrong? By the way, I absolutely love your channel. I've learned so much of Heroclix rules here. Thanks so much.

Alonso Farfan Padilla rule of 3 still applies because the term "+1" is MODIFYING the attack

I think it would be a max of 3 because of the rule of 3. I think this is the fear itself armored thor. Great figure buddy :)
