Thanks for the lovely video! You mentioned traps, and I did have some of those in an early prototype. But they just didn't feel fun or rewarding, so they got removed entirely. You might enjoy the legendary mode (at the back of the expansion rulebook) since it speeds up the early game a bit. About the box: yes, I should have made it a little taller to allow for the dividers to be upright and I didn't put enough thought into the size of the boss track. The box does accommodate for sleeves and with the base game and expansion fully sleeved, it takes up the entire box. It's also possible to fit the actual expansion box in one of the wells of the base game box :)

Thanks of the comment! I don't normally sleeve my games, so that wasn't on my mind. :)

A really fun little game. I like it’s simplicity and find it quite refreshing as it still scratches a fantasy itch without a huge setup and rule overhead. I do use a house rule in multiplayer: the player who gets the card is the person holding a token. Once they receive a card the token passes to the next player. This means the cards are more evenly distributed.

I hope things improve soon and take care of yourself! Thanks for the video on this (never heard of nor seen before today).

Those first few sentences sealed this game's fate. If a reviewer isn't excited about a game, struggles to say nice things, or is already planning to sell it, that puts the game in the "buy on clearance" pile. Good review! Thanks for the honest review.

I try to never oversell things, but also be honest in my evaluation. :)

I always get a bit worked up when I get a core card game that's only 100 cards and the box holds 2000 cards. Its just too over the top and a bit presumptuous. Or just poorly designed. Why not have a small core box, then have a bigger box expansion to hold all the cards of the core plus the new expansions. Otherwise you are putting the cart in front of the horse

That’s a really good idea, to make the expansion box bigger!

Thanks for your video again! I think this game does not actually promise to deliver an epic dungeon crawl experience (which is in general a rather time and energy consuming endeavor). It's more like something between a regular crawler and a filler, hence a "small box" game similar to the tiny epic lines or the "D" series. A game takes me about 30 minutes, which is very good to scratch the gaming itch on busy days. I agree that the tracker has such a weird size, and the box size also feels kinda odd on my gaming shelf. Perhaps your complaint about storing the cards may disappear had the designer given a bit more thoughts to the cardboard inserts, like including a slanted/angular/folded cardboard piece to better organize the decks. Another possible weakness is the bosses. Some feel flat like the Stone Titan (oops spoiler...). This game is definitely not my top pick but is still a decent game and will stay in my collection for like you said the ease to introduce new players to the genre and the hobby. Maybe it's me the game seems to have an "euro" feel as I find it most satisfying when I can pull off my "engine" with only few cards left to deal with the last enemy in the dungeon. As first time designer I think Broken Mill has already done a pretty good job. The pricing is very reasonable with zero component creep. By the way I actually find the game more fun to play co-op than solo because some of the cards do encourage more player interactions.

If really plan on keeping it, you could cut the box down, use foam board to make an inner box teller than the dividers, fold the rules in half, and ditch the tracker for a home made one.

okay this is what i did!. after filling my cart seven times then deleting it, i finally settled on most of the forbidden fortress stuff!. i also ordered some enemy packs from the western theme. i was going to get two core like you recommended, but i wanted to get as many enemies as possible. for $420, i got a total of 25 enemy types. sometime in the future i want at least 5 more enemy types.! I blame you for all this by the way!

So what does those basic 0 cards do? Are they just representation of a miss dice roll in other dungeon crawler? I don’t like hand management that use cards to represent a miss / failed actions. Feels like waste of cards and space...
@TheDungeonDive

Yes. A miss.
@pepijnvanloon4671

Yes, it's a miss, but there are also some cards that get powered up if you have a certain amount of basic 0 cards in your discard pile. And there are some enemies that interact with basic 0 cards, like a Zombie that is so slow and easy to hit that your zeros become ones.

Thank you. Totally forgot to mention that aspect of the game, which I really like.
