Another bit of feedback, sorry :) I will often skip to the end of the video when following along to confirm an area was painted a certain way, or visualize what the end result looks like to guide my highlighting. Sometimes your paint list and credits at the end block the back of the figure. If you're videos could give a good clear 1-2 second view of the back of the figure, that would helpful for those referencing the final result. Thanks!

Dude, thank you so much. Glad that you liked it and some of my feedback pointed me in the alt colours direction so it’s good that you liked it. More to come but not for Heroquest as my commissions now done.

Hi! Awesome job! I'm quite thrilled with your Heroquest painting videos. Please, could I ask you something? How did you get rid of the nasty mould lines of this miniatures? I'm having a hard time getting rid of them due to the rubbery plastic they've used with this minis. The usual scrapping motion with the xacto knife doesn't work as expected, like with the hard plastic minis. Thank you!

Hi Alejandro and thank you so much, it's great to hear that you're liking the Heroquest vids. I say vids because watch this space, there's more on the way finally :-) Regarding the mould lines they're a right pain in the backside I'm not gonna lie to you. I use the same method you do usually but as you say it doesn't work well. Tried to remove the worst of them as best I could without damaging the figure then switched to a 240 grit sand paper and went VERY carefully. Finally buffed that up and out with a 1000 grit sanding sponge. Shouldn't admit it but if you look closely in some of the videos there's still some there, next to impossible to remove as we usually would unfortunately. I'm gonna try and film the prep process for the next video as I've been asked this a few times so hopefully that'll help explain things better. Thanks again for the sub!

I'm expecting my copy of HeroQuest in the next days :) how dificult it is to paint these figures if you never painted a miniature before? :) was thinking about using contrast colors after I apply the coathing...

Firstly congratulations and kudos on contemplating painting the figures. Any painted mini is better than plastic in my view 😊 As for ease, these minis need a little prep work, removing mold lines and such but they are simple enough to paint, particularly with contrast colours. I have some PDF guides for the majority of the monsters on my Facebook page, all done with contrast colours and metallics. You can always stop and skip the highlighting sections. Good luck, I hope you enjoy the game and feel free to post up pics of your progress over on the FB page. 👍🏻

@@BrushWoodMinis thx for the encouragement... I already painted my HeroQuest, Descent 1st edition and Jaws of the Lion. My next project will most likely be Imperial Assault :) I even bought a an entry airbrush set :)

I would say it would be better to see the mini up closer whilst painting.

I’d agree but unfortunately my budget doesn’t stretch to a macro lens currently so I’m governed by focal lengths. One day perhaps.

This is amazing I'm painting my heroquest characters (is my first time painting miniatures) and I'm far from this, how you make the face is amazing, I feel that my elf miniature didn't have that much detail maybe was that I use the primer to thick? My elf has no face lol 😅
@BrushWoodMinis

Firstly, thank you so much for the kind words. You definitely have to be a bit careful when priming so as not to obscure details. Short, controlled bursts usually do the trick. Of course you may have been unlucky and received a miss-moulded figure.

@BrushWoodMinis

Hey thanks I’m glad you liked it. I believe they’re in the region of 28-33mm. Sorry I can’t be more specific but the scale Hasbro opted for doesn’t seem to conform to the traditional miniature market ones.
