Hesiod of Ascra's Theogony is central to Greek history, literature and mythology. He is the first poet with a biography (eat your heart out Homer) and a brother (whom he doesn’t really like). He is famous for delineating for the first time the honors, powers and names of the Olympian gods. Did he copy the Enūma Eliš and other famous Akkadian and Hittite/Hurrian texts when he wrote the Theogony? Let's get into it.
