Slower burning powders are more forgiving. Do NOT mistakenly double charge fast burning powder like Clays, bullseye, tite group etc

Currently in the US, how much is it costing to reload a shell? Just counting the cost of the consumables?

About .60 cents Where it shines is if you cast your own buckshot or slugs, they end up costing .35 cents if you can get free lead from the range.

@@831sabino Pity, at 60 cent it's far cheaper to just buy new shells all the time. ( here in Ireland anyway) A box of 25 clay shells ( almost always 1oz of 7.5 shot) is costing about $8.50 (US currency)

A person can load for about 34-35 cents (not counting taxes) if they started right now. -Lead $60 for 25 lbs= 15 cents for 1 oz -Powder 10 cents. That would be using some of the cheaper options like Titegroup - wads = 2.5 cents - cheddite primers = 6 cents The biggest savings on shotgun loading is cheap lead and cheap powder. They are your biggest expense for sure.

To bad shot is so expensive. Loading birdshot just ain't worth it these days.
