Check the behavior, but don't break her spirit or dampen her fire. Baby girl is going to need that spark when she's an adult. Sounds weird, but the best way I've learned to do it is put them in a sport. I put my daughter in swimming and tennis when she was 3. Sports forced her to humble herself a bit when while learning something new. She couldn't be the boss when she's trying to navigate six feet of water with floaties on--she had to listen to someone else for a change.

Prestige Hair, Americans n people who pride themselves on being civilized love their canes more so they spare the rod. In Asia up to the 90's we used the rod. These days western psychology has a stranglehold on young parents. Today many young adults/teens think they are very entitled n treat their parents with disrespect. They don't think they owe their parents anything, not even love so they do not care about their old folks once they become financially independent. It's regretful today's Asian children don't know any Confucian teachings.

"Knocked into next week"!! I laughed out loud at that as my mother used to say that to my brothers and me years and years ago. Another one was that she would "Knock you into Kingdom Come". That was when I was particularly cheeky. We were six children and times were hard but we all grew up to be decent, hardworking people. There is nothing wrong with a bit of old-fashioned dicipline. Another of my mothers sayings was that sometimes "you have to be cruel to be kind" that means saying NO when not to say it would be weak or dangerous, things like vaccinations or painful or uncomfortable medical interventions - you get the picture. She has been in her grave for nearly thirty years but she still lives for me. God bless you ,Mum. Hope to see you again.

I don't agree with your method of discipline. You don't agree with what I'm saying, that's fine. In my opinion, the girl has leadership qualities. No, she is not acting like a leader currently, but if the mother works with her and shows her how to redirect that bossy energy, she sounds like she would make a great leader/manager/business owner in the future. Parents shouldn't be so quick to punish and spank all the time. Some things can be worked out simply by talking to and learning to understand our children!

Hold up.... I must be deaf because telling the family to put their seatbelts on (She is following the rules and wants her family to be safe), answering first when asked a question of what she wants for dinner (everyone else may need to think, she has her answer ready), and having the great uncle paint her toenails(all children ask adults to paint their nails). Either this lady did not give additional details about the tone of the child or she is way too extra because this is how a human acts, and a toddler acting this way... is cute and endearing and also normal? Who the heck says its bossy to respond first for what they want for dinner or tell everyone to put on their seatbelts... Ordering someone to do something and then throwing a tantrum? Thats bossy and a problem. Being rude and obnoxious, thats bossy. How is "expressing yourself" new school? Thats literally the definition of living and being a human being. I am so confused... Everyone in the comment section is talking about "beating this little girl". Who says that? Im not trying to be confrontational but I genuinely do not understand how a little girl knowing what she wants and being outspoken is wrong. I hate when people say if you dont CONTROL that it'll get out of hand. No, you do not control it, you channel it in a positive manner.

And secondly No Adult wants their child telling them to buckle up everytime someone gets in the car, PARTICULARLY Before the car is even moving...you know what l mean!

@@ronlawray1563 outspoken just means being able to speak their mind. That they are confident enough in themselves to say what they think and that should always be nurtured and encouraged in homes because I’m sure you know there are enough silenced voices in the world. Too many. Of course disrespect is a diff thing, but we are just talking about a little baby saying what she’d like for dinner and reminding her parents of safety rules. One, we don’t know the tone. We can assume it’s a demand and take it a disrespectful manner but when I envision a little child saying what they want for dinner it seems more like they’re using their imagination and figuring out what they like and don’t like. Of course you as the parent can say sorry, we are actually making x, y, z. For the seatbelt thing lol I have a cousin who did that it was very annoying but she was at a older age, 10 and hers actually came out of fear for safety. I could tell that she was afraid for everyone in the car, she wanted us to be good. With the child saying it ofc everytime can get annoying but this is Another Pat yourself for good parenting moment. It shows that your child successfully understood the rules and they also care about your safety. That’s all.

If you watched the previous show from Chicago, they initially had the Ask Steve folks with the clipped mics - not always suitable depending on how you're dressed, and they're costly if accidentally broken. Then they had the big hand held mic which was handed to the audience members - but people often didn't hold them properly and didn't speak into the mic... plus they could also drop it. So now Anna holds the mic where it should be so that everyone can hear, and it greatly reduces the risk of damage.

I don't think she's in the wrong though? Maybe if she's shouting and has an attitude- then it needs correcting. Children are copy cats of there parents, so if she's bossy, her mum is bossy. If she wants her nails painting- paint them it's a nice moment to remember. Oft. I think the mum also feels threatened.

No let that baby be herself. Don’t break her spirit. The character she has now is the character she’ll have when she’s older. As long as she’s not disrespectful let her be who she’s gonna be because she’ll grow up to be assertive and strong. Woman already have a tough time speaking up for themselves and demanding what they deserve. We think it’s bitchy to ask for what we want. There’s nothing wrong with what that baby is doing.
