thanks for keeping the internets updated, just found your channel and really enjoying it, supurb "do it right" mentality and skilled craftsmanship. Very inspiring to a 30 year old who has been working for the last 6 years as an auto mechanic with the intention of doing conversions full time some day. Takes a lot of experience and tools to get to where you are I would assume!

YES! I'm glad we can support the baby steps (or great leaps) the OEMs are making to help get more of us off the fossil burning. While the $370/month lease seems like it would hurt, going electric has been the goal of all these years of hard work, so it shouldn't be more than a few months before I take the plunge :). I can imagine doing a conversion would be assuredly more satisfying to drive though :) I look forward to your videos!

Thanks, any one can do the things I've done, it just takes time and a little forethought. I hope you will start as soon as possible to do conversions. We need as many people as possible doing this. If I can be of any assistance just let me know.

It may look like a larger vehicle but the curb weight is only 3155 lbs. The battery pack was about 7K.

Wow thanks for the reply. I agree the more "gadgets" out there turning cars electric the better. I've landed a job with Nissan and foresee getting ev certified with them in the next years but wonder if the LEAF will miss universal acceptance like custom conversions could... I'm psyched to see a manufacturer stepping up for the zero emission future though... and that they are building a huge battery plant in TN. Thoughts?

By and large the people who are buying the Leafs and Teslas are the same people who are going into their garages and converting vehicles. These are the ones who are already convinced that electric drive vehicles can provide the transportation that they need. What we and the OEMs need is more butts in the seats of EVs driving around and spreading the word. TV and newspaper adds will not convey the message as well as a 5 min ride in your friend's converted EV and seeing him pass up every gas pump
